Bike looks great! I did a restoration on one the summer before last, so I can attest to the "hard to find correct part" situation. They are a blast to ride!!

OK so....I keep blowing fuses and the headlight won't work. When the key gets turned the red wire from battery is grounded to the motor!? I don't know where there could be a short....there is so little to the wiring. Ug. Any ideas

is the harness intact, or was it cut up where it all meets the battery box? The battery on this bike IS the regulator.. it's very easy  to hook it up with the fuse in the wrong place.. then, it blows immediately, which only takes the battery out of the circuit. Once this happens, the stator is  free to send 16 volts to all your 6 volt bulbs, blowing up everything that is on. Bet you at the very least blew the headlight low beam.

Brand new (NOS) harness. Fuse is on the solid red from art to harness and the red with white goes to rec.

Hmm. The fuse blows the second you turn the key on?  The key should not switch ground.

I just made these up to sell on my site. Just like stock but not brittle and I added a fillet to the tab for strength.

Interesting choice of words Fenders...
So, if he says "yes" does this mean he can or can't?
Where are the arguments that there would be a market greater than one (you) to make it economically viable?
Where would he reach or how would he reach those other owners?
The SL350 is not a SOHC/4 design so it is not going to be here...
Are the CB or CL350 side covers alike?

Ha! I was just google-ing around about wiring on old Hondas and my own thread came up. Threat to revisit the pages and pics. The bike was put into storage before we moved, I can't wait to get it back into my line of sight. First I have a z50 to play with....then back to the 90.

Just got my hands back into this bike. Feel like a few mods are in order. First off....switching the wiring harness back to the original. The original harness has no wires for directionals and a 3 way combination ignition. The new one I have in now has wires for all the bells and whistles and a 2 way switch.

Question....how do you hotwire a 3 way switch? Looking at the diagram red+black wires are ignition but....then I'm not connecting the dyno and headlight. Wait....I will attach a file.

I had to dig to find this diagram. The only one close to what my bike has for wiring. Not even in my shop manual.

Nice project, My prospect has no title, I'm looking for a frame with title. A guy I knew junked some a couple years ago.

Don, you can always go the Vermont title path. They will give you a legal title and then you present it to the local title agency. Some have ran with Vt title and registration for a year. Only becomes a problem if stopped in your state if you have requirements to title in 2 weeks to month in most states. If you have property in VT then it can be explained sometimes. Depends on attitudes of officer.
Otherwise,  there is bonded title process, etc.
Depending upon your state....
Some states do not do titles for old bikes and prior registration & bill of sale is sufficient in those cases. Depending upon where the bike came from and that state's requirements.

Franken,
That 175 wheel fits?
Are you considering upping the stock 8hp motor as well?
The 175 was advanced for its day creating 20hp and able to hit 75mph in tucked position. The front forks will quickly be a weak point if you are cranking out more power and mass on them. Are you considering changing the forks?

Wrong - VT does not issue titles for bikes over 15 years old.

That CB175 front wheel/drum brake is good for the S90,I hope you can mount it up to your orig. forks.  8)
I'll be doing something similar w/ my CB125S as I'll be doubling the power by installing an XR200R motor in it later and swapping in a pr. of CB400F forks,CMX250C triples w/ a CB350 front twin leading shoe drum wheel which should stop her w/o any issues rain or shine,I just finished building the front wheel for it tonight w/ PC'd orig. spokes and rim w/ polished and clear coated hub.
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !
Do your BEST...nobody can take that away from you.

Still have the bike. Still ripping it around. Getting cold here in New England. I gave it the big bore treatment. 50mph is easy and I am smiling.
