Nominate for Bike Of The Month - October 2011
« on: September 01, 2011, 01:17:47 PM »
It's Nominatin' Time!

September 2011 BOTM Voting Threadhttp://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=94196.0

Congratulations Hijynx for being the September 2011 BOTM winner!

I will let this run until about 9/15/11 and then start the voting thread.

Please Nominate, Second and Accept using those words.  It makes it easier for me to setup the voting threads.  It gets cryptic at times.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

kap384 nominates RickB's 400F.  Don't think it's been nominated before and a great looking build.

Hi guys,

So I finally did my carbie balance/sync. It was quite difficult with the twin vacuum gauge I had. I would do 1-2, then the idle for 3-4 would be super high. I just couldn't get it right. In the end, I did the best I could but I think a 4 dial gauge is the way to go.

Before - May 24, 2009.

After - September 06, 2011.

Thanks again for all the help over the years guys, couldn't have done it without you all.

Rick.

Are there not any bikes out there this month that is worthy of a BOTM nomination other than one?

Remember, all nominations prior to the last month that did not win can be re-nominated. So, there are really a lot to choose from.

Wow guys, thanks for the nomination! Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been away.

I'm flattered, but I must decline for now. I really want to finish the seat and fine tune the details (fairing, paint-job, clip-ons etc) before I enter. So give me a couple more months and then I'll have some proper photos taken and really go for the gold so to speak.

Thanks lads, I'm so stoked to even be in the conversation!

Wow, I truly appreciate the nomination bender but I must decline. My bike is in it's stock form and that is how I bought it. I feel the bike of the month is for those that have nicely restored their bike or created a bike of their own vision. I have never even taken a wrench to my bike except for the most basic maintenance and therefore couldn't in good conscience compete against others that have poured their blood, sweat, & tears into their ride. Thanks anyhow!!

But it is yours and you own that beautiful piece of art.  You maintain it, you guard it, you ride it (I hope) and you and the bike are deserving to be nominated for BOTM.

If someone else had it, it would be an ugly looking, bad attempt at being a cafe.  But no, it is a beautiful stocker.

Hey folks, slow month aye?  I will let this run another day or two.

Remember, we need at least two bikes to start the voting thread.  If there is only one bike/owner ready, the entrant will automatically entered into the next voting period.  We have missed a month before.

Jay BOTM is for ANY SOHC bike - only real conditions are that it runs, its yours and its a SOHC.  If you recall TT got his stock unmolested CB550 nominated and won BOTM. Plenty more examples of this...Accept the nomination and let the voting members decide ;)

Wow - my bike got nominated, that is so cool.

I humbly accept (despite the fact that today's ride to work qualified my SOH4 as a SOH2 for some reason - damn carbs! - must fix this problem this weekend)

Maduncle said he is ready for BOTM.  We need a second on this fine machine for his acceptance!

Are you ready for BOTM?  You have been nominated. We still need a second before you accept, if you are ready. ;).

Sure thing - what an honour (I had better work on my speech...)

And while I am at it , I had better work out why my SOHC4 converted itself to a SOHC2 on the ride into work this morning (damn carbs...).

I like my women a little big. Natural. Now, they shave this and wax that. It's not right. I love natural women. Big women. This trend in women has to go. Bulomia, anorexia. That's just wrong. You know what will cure that? My special sticky buns. One lick of my sticky buns and your appetite will come right back. ~ RIP Mr. Borgnine  01/24/1917 - 07/08/2012  :'(
