Did anyone else notice the GPS gauge has a 15 foot antenna that needs to be mounted so the gauge works? I don't think I'd have that kind of room on my bike.

The antenna itself is the little black box.  It just has a 15 foot cord.

+1 on the antenna just being the little box.  It doesn't need to be exposed, on the site they state that it works well under fiberglass.  I could intall it in my seat cowl. 8)

Well it's nice they give you so much cord, but I'm running out of places to put little black boxes. I'll be keeping my eye on this to see how well it works for everyone, besides it's a bit steep for my wallet right now.

I haven't used one personally but on another forum (ls1tech.com) there are a lot of people that have used them when swapping LS motors in older cars. No need to use any converters for the speedo. I have never heard anything but great reviews out of them. For me personally they are one of the best looking gauges out there. I plan on running them in my 65 Chevelle SS. The only thing I would be concerned about is if they are weather proof. I guess you would have to contact them for that info. Sure would be nice if they actually made a bike specific one. The gps speedo with tach, turns, neutral, high beam, and oil lights would be sweet.

You could use one of their GPS based speedo units.

This one has GPS Speedo and Tach...All in One...pretty slick!
It does not look like they have a bracket they can sell to mount...I guess you can create your own.

The problem is they only offer an 8K RPM tach in the dual gauge. If it came with a 10 or 12K tach and they added the neutral and oil lights to the turn and high beam it would be perfect.

Well after posting the above I decided to email SpeedHut about making a specific gauge for motorcycles. I inquired about the dual gauge GPS speedo with a 10K and 12K tach with the additional warning lights built in. I also inquired about vibration and weather resistance. Hopefully they will get back to me soon with an answer and I will let you guys know. Perhaps if more of us inquired as well then we might spark some attention.

I have gauges from speedhut Speedometer in the CB-750 (Now is working fine after clear somei electromagnetic nterferences ) and Water temp and Gas level in a Kawa Z-1300, all of them are working fine but the only problem ys they have a setting button in the front face and is not watertight.

Did you make your own mount to attach the Speed Hut Speedo to the CB750?
How is the connection from the Tack to the motor to read RPM's?

Well I got a response back from SpeedHut. The long delay in replying was apparently my fault. Somehow with the intermittent internet here my email got stuck in my outbox but never left. So anyhow here is the response.

Thank you for your email!  We have seen more and more customers using our gauges (specifically our GPS speedometers) on their bikes.  We have not done specific testing on bikes.  However, we know many customers use them and like them on their bikes.
 
The gauges are water-resistant.  The front of the gauges are fairly water proof (although in light weather - not a power washer).   The back of the gauge has a hole that the wires come through.  This would need to be sealed with silicone for more protection.
 
We can offer the dual GPS with the tach either 10 or 12k!  However, we cannot offer any more LED's than the turn signals and high beam indicators unfortunately.  Please let us know if you have any more questions!

So it looks like the gauges would be a go for our bikes. I know there are several machinist here. Perhaps one of them could make a nice billet cup that the gauge could sit it that could then be polished or anodized.

Good News...I may need to get one now! 
It sounds by the letter the Dual GPS - RPM is available NOW in the 10k or 12k which is great!
It appears they dont have mounting brackets on there website for the dual unit.  A custom mounting bracket is a must.

Now is working fine quite accurate speed and zero oscillations, my only concern is the watertightness not because the unit because is inside the original place using sealing rubbers and so on but there is an small reset/calibration button on the front face that make me wonder about.

According to the Speedhut site, their universal sender unit doesn't require magnets:

"Sensor can be mounted anywhere that counts Feurus metal objects passing in front of sender. Sender works with all of our speedometer models. "

You should be able to detect the bolt heads themselves without magnets.  That would give you 3 times the sampling.  Of course, the sensor needs to be within 1mm of the bolt heads, give or take 0.3mm.  :o

I decide myself to install the magnets to check how it works 1mm is a bit close  ??? to my understanding, magnets increase the induction distance up to 3 mm maybe I could use 6 magnets to increase the sampling.

I check that issue with Speedhut and that's the answer

There is a magnet in the htz sensor so it is not required to use a magnet but it will still work (maybe even better) and will not be a problem

Thanks for posting that info :)  If you need to make changes when you place your order, please use our Comments box.  Order what you want, then when going through checkout, state in Comments, that you would like the tach to be 10k (or 12k).  There is no additional cost to make this change.
 
FYI, we have a new account with a large Motorcycle manufacturer who is adding some of our gauges to some of their bikes.  He has been testing our gauges on his bikes and feels like they are a great fit!  So I feel confident in saying that our gauges should work great for your bike!  They are waterproof (as long as the back is sealed).  The front is water proof as long as you don't use a pressure washer.
 
We offer a Lifetime warranty on our gauges and make everything here in the USA!  We would love to get your input once you've installed your gauges :)

Well that settles it for me.  My current speedo and tach cables (2" chrome mech. minis) are binding from the tight fit.  Because of this they aren't reading correctly, and the binding is only going to kill the cables.  Speedhut has a 2" GPS speedo (no extras), & 2" tach so time to place an order.  Once they arrive I'll post install comments in the build thread.  Now I just have to decide what the faces should look like. ;) :)

I was content with my stock "you're going somewhere in the ballpark of this speed" speedo until now. Now, I'm going to have to get one of these when I rebuild my bike. Way to go, guys  ;D

I got sick of guestimating my speed all the time, thats why I started this discussion, I'm just waiting for mine to arrive, I got an email a week ago saying they were on their way but apparently they can take up to 2 weeks to make it to Australia, I think they have someone paddling them over in a canoe  ;D
