Alright, primary chain finally arrived from Ontario. Sold my shoe brake WM6  complete wheel assembly  to another forum member. So ordered today from Buchanan's WM6 3.50 x18 and stainless steel H/D spoke kit, of course, I'm getting it gold anodized! ;D Going to use CB750F hub, with it's large diameter disc, but drilled and maybe blanchard grind for weight savings.Front going to be CB750 F triple tree(a little more rake) and a set of Ceriani's up front 35 mm, as soon as I can find them.Frank 754 c'mon man! Chrome moly frame w/ swingarm, will sit low, engine mount higher than frame rails, also has deep pan to consider.Wheel base 72 inches.Remote starter, fuel tank alum cell, make or buy.
Brakes PM probably, we'll see. Want this one light!! WM3 or 4 up front, probably 2.15x18.Wow, lot's going on.Still gotta call Mr CFM (Mike Rieck). Got feelers out on rods CB1100F.Still waiting.More later. Thanks for the support.Bill

Yes, you can run a chromemoly chassis in street ET. But, it must be self starting and it must have functional tail light and head light. No flashlight. So... put on a dummy light thats been gutted out, add a low current draw LED light inside and an LED light on the tail but don't turn it on. Bam, its functional if necessary.

No sir, we will come up with a way to put an onboard starter on this thing. i guess i will do my best to make this my contribution to the project. I still have my 79' DOHC 750 under the old shed. The motor is complete so i will try to pull it out soon and take a good look at the starter clutch set up. We've got to adapt it all to the SOHC cases. I have some cases i can dummy up just for this purpose o it looks like i'll be trolling Ebay for a 900F crank and rods. I used the starter motor from the DOHC on my no bar Kaw but i think i have another someplace. We probably will need to wire the starter up at 24 volts to get that stroker to turn over so leave room on the chassis for an extra battery(small one).

The bike can compete in Pro ET. The challenges are the need for support people. You don't drive a 13:1 motor back down the return road through the pits. Per Rick Stetson, keep it 12:1 or under for that. The oil temperature would otherwise be too high for the next round. Having an external starter is fine but you'd need 2 of them. One in the pits and one at the front of staging lanes or someone to roll the starter from the pits to staging lanes and back again each round. You'd also need someone to tow you back down the return road to the pits after each round.
Managing your oil temperatures correctly and you can run sub .030 packages all day long with the right back brake. That's why my big motor is 11:1 and I bring a friend when I race it. The friend hauls the starter cart around.
Yes, electric starts are possible with 900F cranks. Frank, when you figure out the spacing, please document and post dimensions for the rest of the world. We'll all thank you for that! ;)

I had 13.5:1 pistons and had about a 1/8' off the head. I Kick-started this motor all the time. although I weighed 220 back then :).

Longer wheelbase than I have on my chassis. Good for clutch motors, not as needed for automatics. The 1180 that I have does a power wheelie in low at least 150 foot down the track, when the motor gets into the meat of the powerband. The wheelie bars that I run are used there to put the front end back onto the track. I chose the shorter wheelbase to lighten the overall bike a little. No, I'm not running the 295 cam on my combination. It's a very gentle power wheelie that just goes up around 2" on the front until the wheelie bar hits, then it comes right back down. The longer the wheelbase, the more gentle the front end comes up.
The big displacement screams for air going into the cylinder head. The Cycle X roadracing relocated intake ports cylinder head would be very interesting in Bill's combination. More air coming in with some velocity will make that motor a beast. As you build some serious horsepower, the rear brake becomes critical. It has to work correctly to allow you to compete in Pro ET. When you get Sam's 'matic rear brake working correctly, you'll understand how it changes your bracket racing. You'll be doing it right when you get people questioning your sanity with the rear brake setup that it will need to have. Dual rear racing calipers won't be seen on any dragbike except a big motored Hondamatic. Good luck with the 1100F rods. I looked for a long time, but never could find any at an affordable price. ;)
