Awesome pics. Next year, if PZ is to come my way again, I will need confirmation of other riders in the Northeast so I can do a group ride. I felt bad holding onto him for so long.

I'm joining a vintage bike group this weekend. And there are some other SOHC4s in the group!

...here is some more...
the ride to Whiting Indiana, which culturally, is a south side suburb of Chicago....big steel plant...a surprisingly large portion of the Lake Michigan shoreline along my route seems to be owned by two multi-nationals-name escapes me and BP Petroleum.   Sorry, this stuff fascinates me.

made it to edwardmorris'
DSCN0807 by Sean Barney, on Flickr
so ed takes me on a little ride in his area.  I feel bad for him for where he lives.  Just miles and miles of urban sprawl...no place to really wring it out for miles, and I am pretty sure Indiana has the lowest speed limits in the country.  #$%*ed up thing is nobody obeys the speed limits in the city, but out in the country where there is some space, everybody does...roughly 25 miles of riding west through the south side suburbs will get you to the location of SOHC Digger's death.  RIP  edwardmorris you be careful out there.
So, on the verge of escaping the sprawl, we encounter a huge traffic jam, caused by ten or fifteen minutes of this, with cops blocking traffic and everything...

Thanks for the pix Sean! And thanks for coming out and riding with me. The weather is looking awful for now, but we'll see if we can find a better route for the next time around.

That's terrible about getting blown out & washed out on the ferry trip.
Way too many miles to ride it around the lake. Hope you can work out something.
Good luck working something out.

Some really nice pictures of the bikes.  That Vetter fairing is pretty crazy.  Especially since it is on a 500. I would imagine it has been setup for a long time that way. Definitely a northern bike with the nasty bit of corrosion on the panniers and turn signals.  Tough keeping brackets and such clean with little access to the brackets.

Sean is a REAL tooper.................He road his F3 through Chicago on Friday evening so he would be able to meet me on Saturday at the races 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

We met as scheduled and made plans to meet with Trevor for the Sunday CRUD RUN...........No Trevor...........and worse yet..........No K3 for me to carry PZ...........while riding home on Saturday PM a puck in the head must have blown.......because I have a GUSHER :( :( :(.......#2 pipe was covered with oil...........so I parked the bike for a winter repair and rode my APRILIA PEGASO to the CRUD RUN.  PZ is resting on the K3 in my garage after a quick ride home while hiding in the saddle-bag after the exchange from Sean, who is now having a beer in Milwaukee and will take the ferry home Monday AM. By the time he gets home I'm guessing his bike will have another 900 miles.

Pics when I get a chance.  Who do I send PZ to?  Please send complete address.

Jet airplanes are cool, but my offer to take it west on an actual SOHC4 is still on the table if someone wants to meet from the other direction.
Dennis, send PZ to Greg, before winter sets in. :)

Sorry to hear of the oil geyser on the K3. Hopefully it will be an easy and inexpensive fix. Or, a great excuse to build it with more power after spending time in the shop.

Good thing that PZ is on the move and Sean did the ride around the lake to reach you and attend the race. Hope you guys had some fun!
