hey bud they all weep a little from there on the head try spraying it down a couple of time with carb clean it may stop
as for your idle problem take the slow jets out and run a piece of (strand) 14 gauge wire through them and clean them well
also it sounds like you have an air leak take the little aluminum caps off the top of the carbs and use cable lube in them this will last for about a year other places they typically leak air is around the side O rings between the carbs and the boots themselves if the side o rings are the problem could indicate a worn throttle shaft
you can figure out where it is by spraying wd40 over these areas while running the rpm's will change but im betting on the slides being dry and hanging up in the bore cable lube works best but wd40 will work for a while also if the gasket is torn replace it you can cut your own from cardstock and an exacto knife works good not a lot of heat here so asbestos is overkill
when you own a motorcycle the wife does not have to find you handy she just has to find you

Read the whole thread first or at least look at the date of the post your replying to, that was years ago.

I see Chris from MotoGP has listed your exhaust on ebay, stating that you have run into $$$ troubles so he is selling then at half price.

Hope all is going well and that he is misinformed about your personal situation.

No.I got my pipes already. I paid 8 for mine so it will be ingesting to see how much they go for. Pretty funny he says he built them for a guy back east. I live 4 hours from chris and when I bought mine he said he only made 2. I could never get a read on the guy. Sometimes he seems really shady, as you have experienced I'm sure and other times he has been really cool and helpful.  I was happy to get my pipes and he saved me some money on my rims. I wonder if he will ship those pipes to canada? Last I talked to him he had an embargo against canada. Lol

Ya, I don’t know where he stands on the Canadian embargo anymore. I gave in to the constant harassment and returned the Yosh replica pipe to him over 3 months ago so he shouldn’t have to hold an entire country responsible anymore.

Bike is looking fantastic ffj.

He was weird to deal with. The 4-1 he built me is kind of a rough fit, it needs tweaking. But Lord it's a nice looking pipe.

Ok folks after much delay and distraction by other bikes im back on this build. Split the cases on my big bore build( see my motorbuild for details on that) and then i pulled the motor out of my rolling frame and took the bike to my upholstery guy. Should have a nice seat in the next week or so. Stay tuned.

got a stock seat put on and im working out some problems with the carbs. My list of to do's for tomorow is.
get the carbs to stop leaking
get the chain on
get the breaks on
prep the spare wheels for Powder coat
work on switches and headlight.
well see how much gets done
ill post pics with the new seat.

It is easy to get the carbs to stop leaking .

Just install 4 new float  needle jets.

Do not adjust the floats to get it to stop leaking - or you will end up just having to do the job all over again.

The only way the floats get off is when the rubber tipped float needles get old and crushed down, shrunken and out of round. Also they get hard and will not seal properly.

Just put in new float needles and make sure you can see daylight when you look through the idle jets.

I think 'TDC challenged' is the politically correct term (I read that on this forum somewhere).

Maybe Lucky is just being thorough...

BTW - I like your distraction project.
