(The actual overnights listed below are just suggestions.  If you can offer safe quarters for our saddle sore brothers and sisters in or around these waypoints, PLEASE offer them a place to flop!  Hotel stays would make this trip VERY expensive!)

Head back to New Brunswick for an overnight in Miramichi, NB

Sur au Québec pour une nuit (overnight in Quebec)

Next overnight is in Ottawa

One last overnight in Norfolk

Good to have you aboard Tripps!  I know that Bwaller and Tintop are also planning to ride some through Eastern Canada. Have y'all talked about a route? I'm going to try to get some planning done in the next week or so. Anything you can give me will be GREATLY appreciated!

By the way Tripps, will you be crossing at Niagara or Watertown?

I guess if Quebec is being covered we would be covering Ontario from the Ottawa region across to the western side of the province. Would the trip continue on to Michigan?  Or would the US and Canada be done seperately?  If Canada and the US are seperate then it would be thru northern Ontario to Manitoba.

Hey Straw,

Ride as much or as little as you want.  The route will take "IT" from NB to QB to ON to MI.  MI will then take it to WI who will take it to MN and beyond, including Manitoba and SAS.  If you would like to enter the US and continue traveling with "IT" you are more than welcome!

I would be more than happy to meet up with someone heading from the eastern side of the province like the Ottawa area and run across the central area to a more southern section like Toronto, where there most like is someone else who would like to join in.  I am open for sugestions!

I'll put you down for Ottowa to Toronto.  The exact route has yet to be determined, so I don't know who or where you will be meeting riders.  Stay tuned!

Gents,

It appears to be roughly 2000 km from New Brunswick to Detroit.  At a leisurely pace of 400 km per day , that would take 5 days.  What say we add 2 days for weather and other such delays. 

Is it reasonable to make it from NB to DET in a week?

I'm in Montreal but depending on the route I'm up for at least Quebec/Montreal/Ottawa.

Yes it's reasonable I did it's about 12 hrs from montreal and New brunswick is about 6hrs from montreal so it's an 18 hrs drive divided in 5 days .

Old School.......I contacted a friend (Allen) in New Brunswick and he has more friends.....all on CB750s. The following is a response..........you may have more riders to cover the maritimes.

And the  answer is, it's all up to you!  I'm setting up Michigan route using about 350 miles per day.  I made the suggestion here that 400 km/day would be reasonable in Canada.  Do you agree?

In my humble opinion, 2-lane country roads are far more exciting than multi-lane limited access highways.  The map you posted looks like it has AWESOME twisties!!

Boswell is in Montreal, so there is at least one rider in that area. 

Hopefully, some folks along the route can offer up places to overnight.  Camping is time consuming though a lot of fun.  Hotels are just plain expensive! 

My role here is to coordinate.  I don't know much about Canadian roads other than I souldn't call the big roads an "Interstate"    I'd be happy to draw up an initial map then modify it to the tastes and suggestions of the riders in each segment.

Here is a great route from Montreal / Ottawa to Toronto.  It would be great to hit our capital in Ottawa and get some pictures.  Its a longer route at around 700km's but its all two lane roads, unlike the southern main route which is all four lane and straight.  We dont have to meet in Toronto but there is some great spots for pictures as well.  The other thing is I dont have to finish off a section in Toronto if there is no one to take over, this is just a sugestion I would love to hear what others think.

Cool. I'm in the Toronto area and I could meet whomever at that end and take "it" further westward. I'm pretty confident of my bike but would prefer not to go much further than maybe London, Ontario, before heading back. I'd prefer the non-highways also and would propose going through Guelph, Kitchener, Tavistock, St. Marys and then to London?

Hey guys, I can do some of eastern ON too.  If you want to stay on the northern route, that's OK, I could head north & meet up somewhere east of Lake Simcoe & carry on to TO area.  Alternatively, if you want to swing south thru Kingston & along Lake Ontario, we can probably get a few more guys too.

Are we trying this into the rally at Mosport in Aug?

AWESOME Straw!  That's what we needed to get this going, a seed of an idea!  I took your route and added a few more segments.  This is WAY early so there is plenty of opportunity for everyone to contribute. 

What I have drawn out here is about 7 days of riding.  Eache segment is around 350 miles, some more, some less.  I put short segments at each end with the idea that handoffs between regions would be roughly mid day. 

OK, please please please poke holes in this map and tell me how it really SHOULD be!
