That engine install technique really works great as detailed on this forum. One of the MANY tips I have learned here.

I know it will come together but its a bit intimidating...

Speedhut GPS speedo/tach. I custom ordered this with a 12k tach as the one pictured on line only goes to 8k. They had no problem doing this and didn't even charge me extra! It is not weather proof so when I shrink wrap the wires, I will pay special attention to this.

Now I need to buy connectors and start putting the puzzle together.

Its pretty cheap. 12"x12" of 3/16 for 13.45 plus 10 bucks to ship. They are in California but also have a store in the midwest somewhere so I got it in two days.

A buddy of mine that club races a formula ford uses it in high vibration areas. He says it will not crack like aluminum will and is easy to cut/drill.

My buddies were coming over for a beer and a cigar so I thought I would pimp them and put the original "whale tale" gl1000 fender back on. I like it! They proceeded to give me a ton of crap but thats why I put it on. I may just run it for fun. Cleaned up and powder coated and it may just be pretty cool!

Question for anybody listening.
I have the original 77, 78 f pipe that was already on this bike when I bought it. (I know wrong pipe) I was able to clean it up pretty well and had planned to buy a Cone engineering 12" reverse megaphone for it, then have it all ceramic coated.

I like this pipe...
Just been looking at all the really nice options out there and am looking for opinions.

Interesting that you say that. After I had it test mounted that thought crossed my mind but decided not to. That would give it the utilitarian racer look though.

Front Gl1000 fender bobbed and ready for the powder coater along with some other bits. I used the cut off front section as a template for both front and rear final cuts. I know I said I would run it stock but couldn't bring myself to do it.

Ordered jets from jets-r-us. Will start out with 2 up on the mains and one up on the pilots with the needle one up from full rich. Got to get back to the wiring and order up some connecters.

Oil tank and carbs mounted

Header & Cone Engineering 12" test fit

Final header install. This is a 1975 bike but it had the nicer 77, 78 f header on it. Its a nice 4 into 2 into 1 design and really hugs the bike.

The 750 is not running yet but soon! I did spend some time on the 550 this spring getting it running properly and adding duel disks. I have just started to ride it really. The Concourse is my daily driver.

Fork tube tops powder coated. Manx 10 pense imbedded. Yeah, I know I'm getting ahead of my self as this should be the LAST thing I do... couldn't help myself. The bike is dedicated to all of my friends on the Isle of Man.
