A guy I know left the bar and lost his cell phone one night, the next night he was going home on back roads and pulled over to pee at his usual spot. While doing that, he heard his phone ringing just a few feet away.

I was kind of pissed late yesterday afternoon, mostly at myself ! Quick story is that I was going to go for a little ride and hit my shop on the way home. I grabbed my new GS1000 carb fuel pipe I had just had delivered from E-bay. Cost around 16 bucks and with rain coming early next week good time to finish it up. I stop a couple of times during my 60-70 mile ride and have a smoke and a chat with some people. Get down to my shop finally and my pocket is unzipped and the bag of cig filters I had my new part in is gone. CRAP !! So this Sunday morning I re-trace the ride in my head and have a good idea where it may have happened. Hop on the bike (Sunday AM is nice to ride) and 30+ miles later look what I find laying along the edge of the country road in the dirt and grass all damp dewy and nice about a mile from my last smoke stop at a back country boat landing. Whoo Hoo I don't have to re-order and wait and pay twice.
Lost a flip phone out of the same coat last year. Backtracked my ride and found it but it had got ran over before I got back to it.  ;D ;D   Zip you F'in pockets Eric !!

I wish I still smoked Eric, I really miss it. I rolled my own mostly, and probably still have a collection of ciggy rolling machines, not that I used them much. I've also got some nice vintage Ronson and Zippo lighters.

I smoked on and off for close to 50 years with no health issues, but I haven't had a smoke in 5 years now, I gave up a couple of weeks after my dad died. If they ever legalise recreational weed here in Oz, I'll be growing my own, and enjoying an occasional smoke again. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Quit smoking 25 years ago.  To this day I still think about having a smoke, every day.

I don't, but I do love the smell of burning tobacco. Here in Oz it's illegal to smoke in your office, so I see little groups of "social lepers" crowded in little groups outside their offices, so I quite often cross the street so I can walk past and have a whiff. I think it all goes back to when I was a kid and my dad smoked a pipe, I love the smell of pipe smoke. ;D

I lost a garage door opener on the way to work one morning......went back thru the route, and as expected was crushed from being run over.

So now i make sure pockets are zipped up, cause almost lost the ignition fob too.

Don't miss the smoking, but do like to smell the pipes and some cigar smoke.

And really like the smell of the wacky weed. Might grow some if it gets legalized.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Hi Brian,

Yes, we have all that we need now thank you. We were hoping to be packed this week, albeit looks like packing may be delayed by a further couple of weeks due to COVID-19 delays with the asbestos brake pad removal. We shall forward you a ship tracking number for you to follow as soon as the container is on the water.

Have a great week!

You should have bought Vik's Auto Brian, he just sold it and bought a Suzuki Harley Clone thingie. He did say it was pretty gutless, so you'll need to dig into your box of tricks for some good top end bits. Is it only brake pads to worry about? I've just seen a blown injected Kawasaki drag bike from "back in the day" going cheap on FB in the US, and as useless as it would be for a crap rider like me, would be a great thing to piss my wife and neighbours off when I fired it up in the driveway......... ;D

My wife ordered a couple overpriced cloth face masks online. Tracking shows the order on a glorious tour of the Midwest for the last few weeks. It spent the Holiday weekend in St. Louis after lingering in the same spot in Illinois for a week and a half. It seems like DHL and USPS are playing tag with the package. Snail mail could have delivered it a long time ago.

It spent the Holiday weekend in St. Louis after lingering in the same spot in Illinois for a week and a half. It seems like DHL and USPS are playing tag with the package. My 91 year old mother sent me some single use paper face masks Don, but we have so few cases of Covid 19 here in Oz they're totally unnecessary for anyone else but my 91 year old mother, and I had to explain to her that she needed to throw them away after every use.

Your story reminded me of when we had the "Great toilet paper shortage" a couple of months ago, I thought I was super smart when I saw an auction on a website called "Top hatter" (mostly junk from China) for 50 rolls of toilet paper, for $38 USD with free delivery. Delivery was supposed to happen within 2 weeks, but in fact it took two months, so they arrived when toilet paper was in plentiful supply.

What pissed me off though, was the toilet rolls were tiny! A pack of 50 rolls was smaller than a pack of 12 regular rolls! (see pic for comparison) I immediately complained to Tophatter, but they refused to allow me to return them, even though I sent a pic to clearly show I hadn't opened them, so I b1tched and moaned until they gave me a 50% refund, the fcukers. Of course the wife was disgusted with my toilet paper purchasing skills and wanted to throw them out, but I've convinced her to squirrel them away for the next zombie apocalypse, but I'm still pissed off............. ;D

G'day Eric,

I bought a 77 model CB750A with a lot of help and good will from Nic AKA Tews19.
The bike was purchased in Wisconsin then traveled via road transport to Richmond in California where it's currently waiting to be shipped to Ozz.

The plan is to either fabricate a hand shift or install the electronic shifter from my old road racing sidecar.
Reconfigure the brakes to an integrated setup, controlled by the handlebar mounted master cylinder and attach a sidecar.

Then with a bit of luck an old crippled bloke and his Labrador will be able to get our noses in the wind again. :D

Without stealing Brian's thunder, yep, Oz won't allow anything with asbestos to be imported into Oz. I watch an online car show "Mighty Car Mods" where a couple of young guys hot up all sorts of Japanese cars, and import JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars which are usually low mileage and in good condition. One of them recently imported a mint Datsun 240Z, but had to pay extra to leave the engine, drive train and brakes in Japan.

It's a stupid law brought in by our previous Labor (Democrat) government, and just a knee-jerk reaction to something that was never a problem. I keep looking at that period blown injected drag bike with all the cool 70's/80's era extra's, but wonder whether I'd ever get it into the country? That pisses me off. ;D

Here we go, 2 piss-off's, in one day! Back in January, the DVA (VA in the US) gave me a "Gold Card" which covers me for all medical treatment, for life. Fantastic, because my private health insurance for the wife and I was around $700 per month. I rang my insurer (HCF) in early February and told them to cancel my half, but leave the wife on, so she has full private hospital and extras cover. (around $350 per month) No worries they said, all sorted.

Today I looked at my credit card statement, and noticed that there were two charges last month to HCF, totalling $700. WTF? I rang up and spoke to a guy who's english wasn't good, and wasn't real bright either, but eventually he put me onto a lady who was much more helpful, said she'd get onto the department that has been billing me an extra $350 per month for the last 4 or 5 months, and hopefully, they'll refund my money.

Hopefully? WTF? They agreed that I did contact them in early February to cancel my policy and start a new policy just for my wife, but they "might" refund my money that they've been taking without my permission, and for no service? Fcuk me sideways, if they don't refund the 1400-odd bucks that they've been taking without my permission, I'll be chasing them through Visa. Not happy, I could be buying another 1400 bucks worth of bike parts!.......... ;D

Yeah Dave, it was a stitch up, they explained to me that those are how toilet rolls look in Asia, blah blah blah, but as far as I'm cocerned, they can shove that stuff up their arse! ;D

OK, b1tch #3 for one day (is that a record?) When I smashed my beautiful face in last November, my new multi-focal specs were destroyed, in fact, my son found the specs less one lens, embedded in the garage wall. No worries, after reconstructive surgery, I go off to Specsavers and buy a new pair. ($460, less $200 from my private insurance)

Today they felt a bit funny (I'm almost blind without them) but I discovered that one of the wire/plastic nose pad support pieces had disappeared. Bugger. Oh well, they're only 6 months old, must be a warranty, yeah? I go to Specsavers after the lovely Alice (my physio) gave me my weekly back massage. Possibly because everyone in the store were near sighted, social distancing didn't exist, which made me feel pretty uncomfortable, as most of the customers (including a knob wanker wearing a "Sons of anarchy" cut, the fcukwit, I bet he rides a Yama-Harley) were crowding the sh1t out of me. Seriously, any closer and we would have legally been having sex.

Anyhoot, After getting shuffled all over the store, I started looking at other frames, and found a set I liked better than the ones that needed fixing. I asked if I could buy those frames and have my lenses put in? Nope, my lenses are a slightly different shape, and won't fit the new frames. Oh, OK, well I tell her I've got my VA gold card, so I can get a new pair for free, yeah? No, we only give gold card holders a 25% discount, she says. (thanks for your service, d1ckhead......) Oh, Ok, so how much for new frames for my broken pair, and a new set of glasses with the frames I actually like?

Hmmnn, mumble mumble, figures written on pads, numbers crunched on calculators, discussions with the store manager behind my back, phone calls to head office, reading of tea leaves, and the final result, $464.25, with the afore-mentioned 25% discount. I paid the lady and walked out, wondering if I'd just been fcuked up the arse. Sure enough, I check the VA website when I get home, they pay for a new pair of glasses every 2 years. I'll be making a phone call tomorrow............ And that pisses me off. ;D

Frank, Scottly

As Uncle Tez has mentioned any import into Australia can not contain asbestos. That has been the case for many years I believe.
But around 2018 Australian Boarder Force (Customs) decided to crack down on vehicles manufactured before 1985. I think the Lib's where running the show at that stage Uncle Tez. ;)

Anyway if a machine landed in Sydney or Melbourne without verifiable paperwork stating that it did not contain asbestos there was a good chance they would force the importer to completely strip the vehicle using one of customs "approved" ::) contractors and the owner would get a trailer load of parts with a bill demanding thousand's of dollars instead of their new pride and joy. That was if they didn't find any asbestos. If that happened the bill went up and usually got topped with a substantial fine.

No gofast gear required Uncle Tez. It's only needed to get an old crippled bloke and his labrador around town and out to the bike club for a beer.
Circumventing the asbestos thing maybe another issue but we'll see how I go.

I have a plan so cunning you could pin a tail to it and call it a Fox! ;D :D ;)

Ok one thing it's just the frame and rigging, ad your own box or chair, I don't have plans but can take pics and add measurements.  It left mounts but could easily be reversed. It comes off in 15 minutes, or less if mounts stay on frame.. with one person doing it.

I hope you get that Bike soon Bear. If you want simple sidecar design i can send pics of mine ..

Thanks Frank much appreciated but I have a collection of chairs gathering rust out the back of my shed.
I have been fiddling with sidecars in one form or other since the early eighties.

I would like to see your beasty though. How about posting a pic here for us?
