I just had infusion #5 of 6 on Wednesday. I've only been on two long distance rides so far this year and that pisses me off. The weather has been great for riding this summer and it's all I can do to try and keep the bikes running. On top of that my buddy Paul that I build bikes with had his right big toe amputated due to an infection so I'm on my own as far as taking care of the bikes.
It's been a tough year.

I understand.

More power to you Kelly.  ;)

I had a new disk added L3-4 and bolted them together on Monday. They didn't give any time restriction on the motorcycle. Driving can be as soon as I'm not taking drugs. Did want a back brace for 3 months. Did they tell you how long?

I'm having Pluvicto radioactive infusions directly into the bloodstream targeting stage 4 prostate cancer cells.
I have already broken 4 vertebrae but haven't had any fusions. I'm still riding and wear a wrap around style back brace on multi day rides.

I just split a 3 week old pair of Carhart jeans from the left side of the fly at the belt down the left thigh while lifting with my legs...
I still have the receipt, I wonder what their warranty is?

Your bank should have a process to get your money back, I try to never use debit, been through that myself.

Yes,they gave me provisional $ (29.95)which helped quite a bit.
I know I need to get a credit card, and the worker in the bank recommended it,through them.

I got a dose of something like chiggers a while back, on my right arm and stomach where my old man gut was exposed while reaching. I had been under a car in the shop but also trimmed the bushes and assumed it came from there, today I was on the garage floor again, this time with long sleeves and I'll be danged if my right arm isn't full of bites again but this time only the wrist.
Biting bugs piss me off. I wonder what kind like to live in a dry, mostly clean garage?

That would piss me off too Don.
I'd fix 'em good;get some nice, strong lye soap in a large bucket and soak/wash your garage floor with that, let it get into the corners.
I know it'll take a while,moving stuff around,but the end result is a win.

I adjusted the valve clearances on my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 this afternoon.
All went well until the last valve where I found the tappet adjusting screw threads had been butchered by a dealership mechanic in St. Johnsbury, VT when the PO brought it there for its first service. Bummer.

Parts are on the way from a US based seller.
For one Tappet Adjust Screw from Hitchcock's in the UK part plus shipping was $46 plus 10%-75% in Tariffs, I overbought from an ebay seller, cam, valves and springs, both complete rocker boxes, etc, etc for just under $140. This includes 8 of these tappet adjust screws and their nuts.

The rocker threads and the nut are still ok, I hit it with brake cleaner and put some red Loctite on the rocker arm threads and the locknut, I adjusted it as well as possible and tightened that checknut as well as was possible.

Does anyone think that'll work in the short term or should I just wait for the parts and do it right?

BTW, back in the VW days that type of adjuster was called an "elephants foot", and one of our buddies found out they came stock on his Ford Courier,(made by Mazda) with the same thread, and were available over the counter at the dealer cheaper than what the aftermarket charged. ;D

you could keep riding but you'll be amazed by how sharp your hearing will get, or you'll get that look that classic triumph riders get , we call it the "am i going to get home" look. actually having owned a newer triumph i developed that same look after a while

Ebay claims I should have these parts in hand by 17 September, I think I can wait to do it right. This bike is reliable, why mess with that.

I'll have to measure those when they arrive, I think they're M6 but Royal Enfield sometimes likes to use strange thread pitches.

I don't think there is enough room under the rocker for elephant feet, plus they are heavier than the regular adjusters, which is bad for the high RPMs the CBs see.

My employer has quarterly meetings with management and during those meetings, they hand out long service awards, attendance and safety awards. For 6 months no lost time accident or injury, an individual employee will get $50, a year no lost time or injury and you get $100. We had our last quarterly meeting about a week after I lost my finger but guess who made the cut and got $100? Me, even with my fingers all bandaged up when they handed me the $. The HR guy called my name and I replied "are you serious?!!"  holding up my buggered hand and everyone in the room laughing. I guess I got hurt shortly after the cut off date to receive the award.

What does piss me off is having to deal with workmans comp insurance. I've only heard from them once since my accident and almost seems like they're ghosting me at the moment and I'm not happy about it.

in a previous life i did about 5 years of claims management for workers comp over here. basically their job is to not give you any money if they can get away with it. i chucked it in when i eventually got sick of being a professional arsehole, that and a speed/vodka fuelled rampage in the pub next to work.

All the best Kelly, keep fighting mate, you're one of my favourite guys here, and I want to keep seeing your posts for a long time to come.

I decided to go cheap and buy a chinese copy of a Mikuni HSR48 carb for my twin cam harley project. I ordered it thru Amazon and have been waiting a month for it, when Amazon sent me an apology saying that it hadn't been shipped yet. Fcuk it, I decided to pony up the dough for a genuine HSR48 and for only a couple of hundred bucks more, I bought the real deal from the US, (none in stock here in Oz) so it's probably a couple of weeks away, but that's fine, I have a ton of work to do on the "Hawg" before it's time to put a carb on it. I tried to cancel the Amazon carb, but they wouldn't let me, so I thought, "Oh well, I can compare one to the other at least", when I got an email from Amazon asking me to change the payment method, so of course, I didn't, and I've heard no more about it. Win/win! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
