75 CB750k Project

Picked up a all original CB750 last year with 5900 miles on it for $600! I got the bike cleaned up and running last year and road it for several months. Now its tore down for a full rebuild. Check out the below pictures for the progress made to date:

This is it when she came home.


Here are a few pictures of the initial clean up.




Got started pulling parts.


Clean Parts going back on.



Rebuilt the carbs.


Got the seat recovered. (more modern but still classic)


Almost together.


First Ride.



Already causing trouble!


On to the final rebuild.


Repainted the frame and parts.



Engin ready for the polishing process.


Made a mount for my existing engine stand. (just some scrap angle iron)


Rebuilt and polished the fork legs.


Working on polishing the rest of the parts now.

Why can't I find one as nice as that for $600 !      Looks great.   I love those blue fat stripe tanks more and more each day.

6000 miles....   that's just now getting broken in after 40 years

Thanks guys. This bike is one of the best I have ever found. One owner bike too. I'm not going to have to do very much at all to the engine, just a few gaskets and seals, swap over to allen head bolts, and some paint/polish. I can not wait to get it back together again!!!  8)

Really nice job on the bike so far. Thats exactly what I have in mind for a little seat project I'm currently cooking up

So are you a PBR rep or do you just like to drink/promote it?

The seat was don by Nate at vinyl-lux.com. He did an awesome job at a great price.

As far as the PBR I'm not a rep or anything but I do like it.

Well, I ordered a ton of parts today!!! Since I have some time off from work and nothing to do I should get to where I can get the engine back in the frame by the end of the year.

Made some more progress on polishing today.. Man its time consuming :o I need to get some new chrome covers, I got them clean but there are a few scratches and pits in them.

Stator cover done today and I got half the valve cover sanded. Gona take a brake for a few days to let the skin grow back on my fingers.

The bike is beautiful!  Where can you find a bike that sharp for $600  ?

Painted it today, its not Honda paint but its really close.

I was also able to finish the polishing the valve cover and get the majority of it back together.
The fiber disks for the clutch did not come in today so I didn't get that finished, maybe it will come in Friday  :-[.
Oh yeah no more philips head crap. All 5 millimeter allen S/S allen heads!!! 8) Much More Better!!
BTW it looks way better in the sun so I may take a few pics tomorrow.

Well made big progress yesterday. Got the engine back in the frame!!!! Thanks to my Dad swinging by the house for a little bit. Also got the side and center stand back on, new bearing cups pressed in for the neck, and started cleaning up some of the other parts.
