Swing arm, brake stay, and kick stand all came back from the shop that stripped them to bare metal (all were chromed).  They said they took 'em down as far as they could, but there's still some left here and there.  I'll bead blast them, and that should give the painter enough bite.  It also means I have every last little bit to take my stuff to the zinc plating guy.

Still waiting for the primary chains/tensioner from CycleX (coming in wednesday), then the bottom end goes back together when I can get a weekday at the shop with some help.

Rode the 500 after almost two months on Thursday...fired right up and didn't skip a beat :D  I still have the K4 in my sig, but that's the only 750 other than the sandy.  I sold the K6 with that plastic pan seat and orange bodywork about a year ago.  Still have the Corbin seat sitting around...probably use it to break in the sandcast and sell it with the brand new Yamiya seat I got a deal on ;)

Remembered you sold a 750, but forgot which one.  Interested in the Corbin seat if/when the day comes to sell it.  Bet it was fun on the 500! (I was on the 550 yesterday)

Today was tedious, but productive.  I have everything ready to button up the bottom end next visit to the shop when I can get some help from a real mechanic.  The last major prep item I had was scraping the gasket remains.  I didn't want debris from the base gasket getting into a buttoned up bottom end, so it was time to finish it.  The oil pan gasket remains were a little easier, but more of the same tedious scraping/cleaning.  Anyway!  CycleX's new primary tensioner unit is VERY nice.  I ordered their 'Honda' chains (they say they're from Honda) to replace my worn primary chains.  The oil pump, primary & cam chains are all soaking in a tub of oil.  I spun the gear on the oil pump until there were no more bubbles, then another dozen spins to be sure while shifting position in the tub.  I think I'll pick up a tube of assembly lube to keep everything fresh until I can finish off the top end (gonna be a little bit before I can afford all those parts).  I inspected my gears, the shift dogs, and the linkage pieces...everything looks real nice.  It looks like the motor didn't suffer any severe abuse.

A little progress today...pressed in new bearings for the transmission...put new bearing shells in..shift drum, countershaft, main shaft...also greased the head bearings and installed those...seat came in the mail from Yamiya, and it's a thing of beauty.

Can't find the locator ring for the bearing on the left...

Shift forks are in..

This guy got a new bearing...

And, the seat!

I posted in the Wanted section...I have to find a locator half ring for that bearing...it's a 6205 bearing on the final drive shaft.  If anyone has a spare, please send me a message.

Would that ring be on the K0 lower end that I have? If yes, I can take it apart and give it to you. Time for me to get back into the swing of things.

Oh man, it should definitely have one of those...it's the smaller of the two different sizes and it's on the 6205 bearing. I would be in your debt big time dude.

That one will fit it: the K0 engine I have is already missing that part. :(

Ohio Cycle has one.
http://www.ohiocycle.com/
Click on the online catalog and then the NOS parts list.
A pain to buy from there because there is a minimum order and you have to send in an order form with a check, no online purchases.  But they have a lot of good parts.

Thank you, Mark.  I did see they have one, but am hoping a member (Bill, or Tews) can find one for me so I don't have to deal with that process...

We are heading out of state for wrestling this weekend. If Bill doesn't come up with one let me know. I can start taking the lower cases apart.
