Actually it's a moped light. Hahaha. For now it's just sitting there.

I'm going to the swap meet tomorrow to look for a proper fender.

Ill take pix tomorrow of the top tree. I shaved the #$%* out of it and smoothed it out. I'm pretty stoked on the way it came out. First try at that kinda thing. I'm proud of me.

Well I removed the lower bolt on the shocks and set them loosely on the chain adjuster to get a reference on the height I'd like.

I measured and its just about 10" and 1/16 of an inch.
I found these os twisted struts that match that exact length.

Bought them on eBay.

And last weekend I bought a fender off mr Hicks at the swap meet.

Sold it to me for $25!

Can't wait till the struts show up.
Very excited. :)

Thanx I'm doing my best. I know what I want it to,look like and I'm chipping away at it.

I am having a hard time finding the correct specs for float height.

I've seen so,many diffrent heights. And I I know this being a cb750f1 the floats are set different than a standard model.

I've searched but I keep getting mixed information.

Any suggestions would be great.

That rear tire needs to go back or the fender needs to come forward a couple inches. The centerline of the wheel isn't matching the arch in the fender. I like the overall direction though.

+1.  I'd lengthen the swing arm; it'll add to the bike looking low.

Generally I don't understand the point behind the 16" rear wheel conversion you see on lots of 750's that have been rescued from decades in the back of someones shed. But in the case of this bike, a longer rear swingarm plus a 16" wheel and fatter tire would really help make the look.

The fender is just in there via friction fit. You're right it will be coming down a bit.

The tank is an Ironhead tank. I removed the two bars on the spine. Fits nicely.

I would l much rather have extended the swing arm with stock shocks. The swing arm that's on ther isn't my favorite. I'd prefer to extend a round tube one instead. The square one is kinda blahh.

As for a 16" wheel... I like the 18" because it gives good purpose to having the fender come up higher. Gives it sexy curves.

Thanx for the input fellas. The main goal is to get it running. Wiring it from scratch.
Going battery less. I already have a Dyna s ignition for it.

Can't wait to grab the girl and just ride nowhere.

PM Hondaman to confirm, but I believe that the 550 swingarm is actually longer than the 750, so you might be able to get the longer round tube swingarm that way.

I'm also picking up a non seized cb750f engine with a new gasket kit for $150 bux from the same dude.   :D   :D  :D I'll build this engine over time. So when I need it it will be there.

I am overly thankful. I've spent about $500 on this bike. I've been waiting for all the right parts. Oh and she has all the right curves. Haha.

Check out Lowriders by Summers and Fast from the Past. Lowriders has a lot of proven lowering parts (the music is cool too) and fast from the past has an awesome fork brace that would look #$%*in on your bike.

I'd like to put both fork braces on. One for the tubes and a set for the lowers.

Ill visit LBS, but I have already lowered my bike quite a bit.

In the future ill be adding the Spitfire sprung struts. From what I've read they are not soft at all, but I figure it will relive a bit of stress from the frame.

UPDATE:

I noticed the other day there was some JB weld in front of the drive sprocket.

And my X-ring chain was rubbing a bit off.

I didn't like that. Counted the teeth there was 18. Checked on my spare engine t had the 17.

Well I cleaned up the 17 and put it in there.

I've read that the 550's had problems with the newer style chains. And I learned that the oil pressure right there isn't very high. Glad to hear that.

Do you guys think I could get a guy to patch up the aluminum case?

Or clean off the JB weld and reaply?

Seems like ill be buying some new carb boots. Mine have no cracks but are very hard. I pressed on the carbys and the idle went down quite a bit. And I have some investigating to do. Cylinder 4 (pipe) takes for ever to heat up. And the plug is nice and wet.

No stress. Just means ill be running a fine tooth comb through everything.

Thanx digger.

Well I fixed all the air leaks. Those old intake clamps attached to the engine max out over time. So I pushed em closer to the engine where the rubber steps up a bit and that made the boots air tight! Wooo.

Pulled the carbs yet again and readjusted the floats... Number 4 was the cylinder not getting hot as fast if at all. It's needle is a bit on the tired side. I guess after sitting for 10 years, it takes a bit of time for things to settle in again.

Pulled the valve cover and adjusted all the valves. Some loose, some tight, and some just right haha. Now they are all perfect.

This time around I got the sync a lot closer. But number 4 slide needs to come down a bit. It seems to be the suspect of sticking. When I give it a nudge the idle comes down.

Now when I snap the throttle the idle comes right back. No floating.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

Jets are 125 main and slows are 45. Not sure where the needle is. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Ha.
