Nope. This stroker engine used to go bar hopping, street riding and ran within .02 of whatever NHRA had for its class record. Sounds good enough to me.
I bought a set of used Italian Weber faceplates tonight on ebay. They will look a lot better than mine and are in the US already. Mine have peeling chrome and were sanded smooth so no numbers were there, not that the numbers matter.
They appear to be painted or vapor honed, I'm going to guess paint.

Google says my new to me when they arrive carb tops may have come on an Alpha Romeo Guilietta Veloce. Pretty fancy for an old SOHC Japan bike L0L!

I blended the turbo drag bike into this thread, tonight I rolled out the engine that has the future 997cc crankcase and the mocked up turbo on it. I made a strut to hold up the back of the turbo, that way it doesn't hang off of the header and the carb rubbers.
I'm subscribing to David Freiberger's motto, don't get it right, just get it running. In light of that I'm putting a stock K5 motor with an F2 cam into the raked "other Egli" frame and hanging the turbo onto it. The rocker cover can come off in the frame so I can work on it later.
The hard part will be getting the rolling frame off of the shelf in the shop.

I put it up there a few weeks after my hernia surgery, not a wise decision.

Possibly mount a small electric winch w/ a roller plate on a rail which heads out toward the big door.

It will for sure come down easier than it went up, the issue was that the chain hoist's hook hangs down a foot or so and the bike almost touches the ceiling. Creative rigging is required but I put a pair of 20,000 lb chillers into the basement of a hospital once so this is easy as pie.

A small electric winch is powerful, and it should pull-up tight to the ceiling w/o the hook hanging down too far;it will be slower than a chain hoist.

These Webers were for the Big 4 express stroker motor, the faceplates were chromed and nasty, I spotted a pair of nicer ones on ebay. new/old. I painted the mount plates, and plan to get new rubber biscuits to go to the frame tabs.

Thanks, I think the screens on the air filters need to be black. I straightened them as good as I could when I made the new foam filters.

Do the Webers make a big performance difference?
I honestly doubt that they work much better than a good set of Mikunis but the cool factor is off the chart. They are heavy, but are extremely tunable. I've followed the proven jet and air bleed thinking posted on here.
Carbs from an Alpha Romeo have to be cool, right?

Besides their overall tunability, the biggest advantage is the acelerator pump.  Zero flat spots when working right.  They made my sidecar a bear out of courners.

I'm going to have to slap them on a good running test bike. I may need to hang them from a couple of zip ties to avoid bending the airbox tabs though.

I had a few minutes in the shop and made up a new set of fuel hoses with a brass tee and slip over spring clamps. Not sure why but it's for a single outlet petcock.

No question, side draft, DCOE Webers are the most beautiful carbs ever made! Solex produced a virtual knock off, but not the real deal! The Orient Express drag bike I picked up many years ago came with a set and I wish I’d never parted with them!

The Orient express bikes were well known, as far as I know they are still selling parts. I was going to order my 36 mm flatslide Mikuni's there but they were out of stock.

That bike came from their shop around ‘76.

Weber carbs are known to be really good.
They look good too.

Weber DCOE 40 kits for CB750 still available at an Australian shop.

Fuel injection might be maintenance free except for all sensors that will suddenly stop the fun.

There are fuel injection in weber copy bodies
https://silodrome.com/jenvey-heritage-dcoe-throttle-bodies/

Weber porn. Why not a carbed  car with electronic ignition, no cat nor oxygen sensors. Manual choke. ;D

I've always loved the look of that V8 set, that efi that mimics the Weber carbs look is pretty cool too.

I saw a set of 3-barrel Webers for sale, it was hard to resist buying them just to put them on a 6-cylinder Goldwing that I don't even own yet.
