that's about 4x the cost of a simple delkevic that would arrive in less than a week. are they 4x as cool? i need a whiskey to decide...

maybe if a few of us got some together, he could make them cheaper?

 He offers significant discounts on a group buy, both price and shipping. BUT.....Who's willing to be responsible for such a large sum of other people's money. AND deal with distribution once they arrive. That's why I just ordered a set for myself. And shipping isn't cheap either. Not from Spain to the US. But it was EXTREMELY fast! Less than four days after I made final payment!

I'm not sure about making someone responsible for holding all the money, unless Cal is up for it.

here's some more info from enrique:

"All materials and industrial process to build my curved (Pasolini replica) and super-curved (MV- Agusta Magni replica) exhaust are under copyright and I can´t report about.
You can use the main and side stand, original oil filter etc with the exhaust, but you must to prevent what original components you want to respect, when ordering. The exhaust are designed mainly for racing use, so road machines has many components that could be affected by the racing design of the pipes, so I need to know all your sugestions.
The oil filter can be changed easilly, and the headers pipes has enought clearence to get a proper job.
The removable silencers can be graduated to control de noise level. You can do this job in few minutes.
About ceramic coating is a VERY expensive job and very few people can do a REAL job , so I sugest evitate these treatements for a more simple and effective thermic paintwork or thermic electrostatic."


sounds pretty good to be honest.
he's a bit cagey about the material but i'll ask him some more questions about the characteristics.
no response on the group buy thingie. i guess the low volume and hassle we'd create is not worth it.

 That's pretty much exactly what he told me about the coating; he can do it but it's very expensive there, and I'd be better off doing it here.

FYI - ceramic powder can be four times the cost of standard powder.

I have a 4-1 exhaust at my powder guys shop now awaiting coating.

adding this here from enrique, to keep it complete:

"I don´t use inox steel, but we apply zync traitement once the megaphones has been welded and for internal silencers. The thermic paintwork includes internal and external areas, so I think the protection against rust is OK. If the pipes can be affected by the rain (water) during a road trip, just a new coat of spray of thermic painting (15 euros for each can, made in USA) renew your exhaust again to new look..
The max temperature on the headers pipes (only 20cm from the head) is from 700-900 Cº. The rest of the headers pipes (max 30cm from head.) is under 300 Cº and the megaphones never is up to 120 Cº, so an efficient thermic paintwork is enought to protect the metal.
Using ceramic traitement in all pipes+megaphones is very expensive and not necesary to get the best protection."

Basically he is saying, High Heat Paint.  Right? So a 300 C temperature capable paint. 572 F temp paint...

The basic high heat paint at the auto parts store. Or paint supplier might be better quality...
Eastwood's internal header and exhaust paint might be a better solution that to the auto parts store.
But having them ceramic coated by a professional here in the US by someone who does good work would be ideal.

high heat paint is what he's saying, yes. but 300C won't do it on the headers, temps there can go up to 900C. anyway, i think ceramic would be my first choice here.

then i snuck into scott's hideout and borrowed his shiney new pipes to try them on. sorry cal, you should've been quicker!



so that's what it would look like on an otherwise pretty stock looking bike. i think i could get used to that.

of course, if the pipes are ceramic black the seat should be a matching black, too. which makes it easier for me to find a replacement for the original brown one that is on its way out. two birds with one stone... right?

POR15 makes a high temp paint for up to 1200C, formerly known as Formerly POR-20, Black Velvet and Factory Manifold Gray.  If properly cured it is durable.  BUT, they recommend a sandblasted surface...so I wouldn't want to take my new header and sandblast it.

speaking about brown: did you know that when i bought this bike, the tank and side covers were painted some nasty turd brown? i'm sure that's why nobody thought of buying it before me. must be my lucky colour  :o

 And I wish I could hurry up and get the frame back so I can blitzkrieg this thing and be the first to run a set of these pipes!!

joey from what i can blurrily make out when i squint my eyes, yours is sort of acceptable. my PO had done some home style botch job or maybe he had found his artistic inspiration at the bottom of his toilet bowl, i don't know.

 They are not welded together. Mine are completely apart. I had them ceramic coated inside and out.


 Oh...and I'm going to be SOOO jealous if Flatlander gets to hear his before I get to hear mine!
