I was so busy scanning the road for slidey things I didn't even notice the cop on my ass today. I posted it under (and then the cop said,)

The best dropping incident I have seen was not long after I got my car license. It was drizzling lightly and I was sitting at a red light behind a motorbike copper. Just as our light turned green a car shot across the intersection through the now red light. The copper hit the light and siren then laid the bike down in the middle of the intersection with everyone watching. The look on his face as he got up was priceless. He was uninjured except for his pride. ;D

I was at a traffic light on my old K1 and a cop on a XS1100 pulled up beside me, he revved his bike up and looked at me so i gave mine a little rev, he did it again and nodded down the road, i couldn't believe it, he wanted a race, the lights changed and he gave it everything while i pulled away slowly, once he motored off over the hill i turned left and flogged the arse off mine, i was 17 and didn't have a license....  ;D

Anyone else feel like his threads are more enjoyable, more informative, and infinitely more revealing without him around to muck them up?

I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
 I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
 They'd seen his face before
 Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords

Good one that !! Puts me in mind of the day in 1978 when I was trying to get my licence back (again). Jumped through all the hoops, and scored a result. As I'm leaving the house of licensetude, I met a copper who loved road racing, a real fan. He has his copper white CB750 outside, I'm there on a GS1000. He gave me the nod and a wink, we mounted our motorcycles and conducted a fake "chase" through central Dublin, full tilt, siren and lights. When it came time for him to go and do some real work, he gave me a wave  and off I went home for me tea. I had my licence, not so sure about the insurance though, that was "in the post".

Getting back to the topic, I dropped my FT500 a couple of months ago, but I was too embarrassed to admit it. :-[ I was merely checking the oil level, while kneeling on the right side of the bike. I pulled the bike up to vertical with my left hand on the seat, to get an accurate reading, when all of a sudden I realized I had pulled the bike over too far, and it fell over on me, with my left ankle pinched between the floor and the exhaust pipe. The full weight of the rear of the bike was focused on my ankle bone!. I was totally stuck, and in a bit of pain, when I remembered I had my cell phone handy. (sometimes when I'm in my shop, I set it aside to keep it safe from my accident-prone tendencies ::)) I called my neighbor/co-worker Clare, and asked if he could pop into the shop and lift a bike off me, and he was happy to oblige. :)

never mind pieces of black plastic.
yesterday i moved a toy pram off the street. it had been abandoned in the middle of the road, one has to wonder how it ended up there?

cars were trying to maneuver around it and had to stop while i was carrying it off but it didn't appear to any or the drivers that they could've just done the same thing...
