That bike has a #$%* load of parts on it that I would love to have and I'm sure Carpy put time &$ into it but I think it looks bad(and I don't mean bad =good,I mean bad=#$%*).Just my opinion but I have seen him make some way better stuff. The man is a definite craftsman.......I hope he don't go OCC on us!!!!!

He indicates on his sale page in an off hand way that it might not be a great rider.
"This would be great in a shop or studio , even a Bistro, Cafe, restaraunt etc" ;D

I actually got to drool on that Tracy bodied bike in person, and the only thing I would worry about on it is the fibreglass gas tank, other than that it looks to be a sweet ride, if I didn't already have 7 bikes I'd probably have taken it home with me.

but I will be taking at least 3 of the finned kits when they are ready
76' cb750f custom
69' cb750 sandcast
69' CT90
Amen Saviour 750 Chopper frame
and enough parts to build about 6-7 more bikes

I like it..  Big points due to the originality factor.  Those pipes kinda make it look like a Harley XR- never seen that on an inline 4 before!  Also, as with all his builds, that freakin thing is CLEAN!

I'm surprised, Carpy never seems to do any dual disc conversions with any of his cafe's..  I wonder if it is because he finds the single disc acceptable, or he doesn't want the added weight of 2 discs?  Or he's got other reasons I guess.

I think his Yellow cafe that was on his website is my all-time favorite of his work.

Hey Ernie, Don't read me wrong....I like Carpy too and I know he's a member here.I  didn't know he just finished one set of finned covers but he has been advertising them for awhile. I noticed the price he wants for his gauge faces has like doubled since last year.I should have bought some when they first came out...I like them. Most of his bikes are awesome but like ProTeal,I don't care for the Tracy.I do however like alot of the parts on it.There.....how's that for giving the guy a break?

like all the bikes ( dont love the red one), but I am sure he gets tired of doing the same thing over and over. The bike previously posted has 2 rotors but only one caliper and looking at the full build it ended up with only one rotor.

Again, not to knock Carpy's work, his bikes look fantastic and I now have one of his awesome cafe seats, but I notice he doesn't have rearsets on these bikes either. For 6K I think I'd want Rearsets, Upgraded brakes, better than stock rear shocks....
On the other hand, the bikes look so good that 6K is probably a fair price for that amount of labor. I'm just saying that clubman bars and a loud exhaust on an otherwise stock bike is not really a cafe racer.

WOW!  It is beyond my understanding as to how anyone could not just love that bike.  Oh well, everyone has opinions I guess.  To me though, it's hard to fathem the deep seated differences in opinions on this board as compaired to mine.  Just the other day, a newer member posted a pic of his 750 and I thought it was hideous.  Not just ugly, but so ugly that I would have gotten nautious if I had been standing next to it.  I never posted because I didn't feel the need to ridicule something he obviously worked hard on and that he liked.  The crazy thing was that it seemed as if I was the only one who didn't like it :-\

I'm confused.  How can something be so liked by some and then grotesque to others (considering that we all obviously like these particular bikes)?

Another issue that eludes me is cost.  My first reaction to the $6,000 price tag was, "He must have a gambling problem and is trying desperately to pay back the loan shark so that his knees don't get busted."  But on here, everyone seems to think that he should sale the bike for the cost of the parts.  Am I the only one that understands this is how he pays the mortgage?  Very few people have the time and know-how to build a bike of this caliber------------therefore Carpy should be paid and paid well.  What a bunch of knuckleheads.

Upgraded brakes and rear sets? #$%* you should have the option of ditching the thin O.E. fork tubes, move up to some SV 650 tubes at least and go for 4 piston calipers with sintered pads. Plus ditch the spoked wheels for some custom CNC wheels of you want to. Those cost extra for reference.

Just for reference we will take a stocker and make it a BEYOND rocker for about $3,500.

Will SV650 forks fit on a CB550?

This isn't a pissing match. It's a shame that a bunch of creative people who love motorcycles feel the need to measure dicks.

I want you guys to look carefully at these:

All of these were made by members here. They are not in business to make motorcycles, (at least I dont think so, may be wrong on one or two counts)
These are made by regular people, and in some cases rival or surpass the machines made by you guys that are in business.

Theres no dick wagging here, there's just peopel who love their motorcycles, and love other peoples motorcycles.

I think any one of these people could compete in your biker build off, if they were given a crew to help realise their visions.
You build neat stuff. Carpy builds neat stuff. djfischer builds some neat stuff.
So do lots of other people.

No.
