The air assist is a period mod that doesn't work all that great and does not even maintain pressure over time (you will need to periodically add air).  You are better off using original caps and upgrading your springs (and maybe upgrading to Race Tech valve emulators if you want some improvement in the front).

I believe stock is 61mm, first over is 61.25mm. For 61mm clearances with stock rings and a hone, I'd dig around to see what Hondaman says. You may need to go up to 61.25mm? Are the cylinders in good shape? Any gouges or things of that nature?

I have not checked original broken cases, but the clutch cover has 10 bolts. Cylinder measurements were done after cleaning them up. Thanks.

Yep, 10 bolts. The number pad looks like a rare sandcast case but if it was, it would have only 9 clutch bolts.  Someone may have welded up the number pad, ground it back down and re-stamped the numbers. That's all I got.

Trying to secure all major parts, this week got tank, stator, field coil, and spark advance and points plate. Now on to seat search, from what I have read, 69-71 are same pan and hinge mounts. Is this correct? Is there any other Honda model that will fit also? found a few locally that were listed as CB750 seats but were all later years 74 and up, thanks in advance.

Congrats mate, looks like you've got the best part of a K0. This is both a windfall, and a curse, because while you've got the most desirable of all CB750's, (well, "Sandcasts" are the most valuable, but a good diecast K0 is a wonderful bike to own) everyone else knows that too, so you have to pay a massive premium for any parts that you'll need.

I've slowly been collecting parts to put my own K0 together for several years now, but I still need a 1969 frame before I can get too excited. Whereas I can buy a good K1-K6 frame for peanuts, the entrepreneurs out there want anything up to 1000 bucks just for a bare frame. There are plenty of seats available on ebay, from a couple of hundred for a reasonable repro, to a couple of thousand for a pretty average original.

What's your frame number? If it's already been listed, my apologies, I missed it. I hope you get it up and running, and back on the road, but if you give up, I call dibs! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Terry, im pretty excited, I always loved these bikes, I guess like you said it could be a curse hahaha, at least that's what wifey says. I have seen some parts online and yes I will have to open wallet, but I will be patient, hopefully I will get motor together by the spring. You know living up here in Canada I have another obsession....Ice fishing lol, cheers.

Ha ha, no worries mate, I hate the cold, so the inly ice I want to see is in my drinks. Have fun with your build, they're nice simple bikes to work on, and if you meep it long enough you'll get your money back. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I'm green with envy.

CB 750s are much rarer over here in Europe and the ones that exists are crazy expensive and they only get more and more expensive each year.

Basket cases doesn't really exist at all, and if they do they want thousands of $$$$$$$

Nice find, pipeguy.
Looking at that stator, when you go to try & get that surface rust off of the stator, I HIGHLY recommend Metal Rescue.  I can't say enough great things about it.

It's $25 per gallon here in the States and I can only assume it's available there in Canada for you.  Go to http://www.metalrescue.com/home.aspx and there's a link for where you can buy it.

You literally just soak your part in this stuff and it removes the rust.  Take it out every couple of hours and wipe off the rust, then put it back in the stuff and keep doing that until all the rust is gone.  It's environmentally friendly, isn't caustic if you get it on you, can be re-used, and doesn't affect plastic, rubber or vinyl...only rust.

I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th gallon now because I reuse it over & over until it gets so brown that even when you strain it, the stuff looks like chocolate.  At that point, I dump it out and get a new gallon.

Enjoying your build so far.  Keep up the great work.

Had some time today and started the metal rescue on flywheel as suggested, thanks. Also cleaned up valves and springs, measured them still within spec, just found a bent exhaust valve. Does anyone know best place to find one, or just best to try dealer?
