Good luck finding Road and Track forks.  I passed on getting Dan Kyle's last pair several years back.  Maybe that was a good thing since I sold the bike.  I did get the rear shock and it did make a difference.  Dan got his butt handed to him by the IRS for tax evasion, so I don't think he's still the go to guy for Ohlins.  If I had kept the RC longer, I might have sprung (pun intended) for the cartridge kit.  I have it on my FZ-09 and it made a night-and-day improvement.

So, you buy his bike and if you do mods and get it how you like it and he grows homesick for it to be in his garage again and he can buy it back at that point without you really having a say...you have to sell it back to him then...

That is pretty messed up in my opinion.  Having the right to buy it from you when you want to sell it I can understand him having first chance at buying it...

So, are you going to share any photos of the bike or just tease us about it?

Couldn't believe that story on Dan.  I used them for all my ohlins on my cbr1000 before that.  Since that happened they are still doing great work with ohlins.  I mainly deal with Mike wheeler aka Lord duck hunter though.  He did the refresh on my ohlins rear and will do the ohlins 20mm upgrade this winter for me

Kind of glad they are still going. They really know their Ohlins. They also had great parts for the RC51.

I don't have the bike yet...If I do do it, it won't be until September. But it has Ohlin FG832s and an Ohlin HO 204 rear...I am pretty sure I am going to do it...sorry to be a tease

I don't understand this? For clarification, I went and saw the seller's bike and did not buy it. Time passed, I got my CB running, and realized that I do indeed need more speed. I texted the seller and found out he still has the bike and is still willing to sell it to me. I told him that it appears he is not in a rush, and wondered if he'd be willing to sell it to me in September (it is possible that he will sell it to somebody else, but I doubt it, I am taking that risk by waiting)...so yeah I am a tease and I might have a sweet RC51 in September...there would be no "buy back" option....It would be mine. All the mods are already done to it.

Chris, I was catching up on the thread and responding to the July 6 post...
The text message sounded like he could buy it back from you, I must have misread it.
Wonder if some bikes would have better return on investment if you enjoyed them before selling in 3-4 years or longer?  Only way to make any money on investment seems to be those with higher risks, you certainly will not get any return trying a savings or other bank investment accounts.

So, how about some pics of your bike updates?

David
