Guys..
Probably missed it. What are directions to the Bonneville bike week thing? Also need more info on the facilities available.
Sorry...I'm old fart nowadays..need more specific details to plan accordingly.
Thanks so much for planning this.

Quick overview,
free camping in the dirt at Bend in The Road. Closest to the track, and 1 mile from truckstop that has restaurant and showers.
Rooms this time of year are cheap 45 to 85 bucks I think (not sure) , but often cheaper on weekdays.
During Speed week , early or mid Aug, 200 and up..
Temps probably be around 95 During The day, bring loose fitting light coloured pants, Salt is reflective, and bounces the rays back. A big hat helps and lots if water is a must.

Riding your bike onto salt flats is very very hard on it.
You can minimise this by parking at the boat launch... the end of the pavement where the Bonneville sign is, the thumbing a ride  to the track..

I-80 to Utah/Nevada border, city of Wendover. Super 8 motel about $50. Call when you get close. We will work out the details then. That easy.

Central Calif Coast could be in the Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo (SLO) area and call it Tour de TriTip. That area is known for fantastic Tri Tip Steak and sandwiches and there are plenty of fun things to do. Rides up into the Irish Hills watching the Inversion Layer roll out in the morning and up to Morro Bay and on up to surfing at Cayuse ?spelling? Lots of great areas to ride.  The dwarf forest at Morro Rock is pretty cool and you can load up on sunscreen and go whale watching on one of the tour boats.
Great taco place on E side of freeway at Morro ...
I like the TriTip steaks at McClintock's in SLO and the sandwiches at the old firehouse in slow and small shop at Pismo Beach.
There is a bunch of good wineries in area as well as a dinner theater and other fun stuff. Try the ice wine at Paragon Vineyards, an orange muscat grape...excellent dessert wine!

So, is SOHCtoberFEST going to occur at Land Between The Lakes in Oct.?

Dates would be useful to book accommodations as 2 months is a good advanced booking window.
Whether that is for camping or for lodging.

I just commented in the other thread that my plans have changed. I purchased a condo in the USVI in June and I will be spending Oct and Nov there instead.  :'( ;D Heading back in Nov for the Man Cup finals in Valdosta then visiting my daughter and husband in their new home in Chattanooga. The best I will be able to do in 2018 is Bonneville. I kinda had been looking forward to hanging out and spending time in my old stomping grounds in WKy but had to make a choice.

I'm going to wait until 2019 for Kentucky and Blue Ridge Parkway.  Poor Dash is still down for the count (I beat the hell out of him riding across country last year)..  Have to take the engine out and shipping it to Mark in Colorado for a proper engine repair.  Was going to ride my Suzuki to Kentucky this year but never got around to planning it.  So working on it for 2019.
Jerry and others who were interested in a Kentucky meet up I will be ready next year.

Sounds like KY will be a 2019 event from several unable to make it. There is a shine distributor or maker in Paducah, no surprise. Lots of shine is fairly weak at 60 proof...easier on the liver I guess.
Would be interesting to see how various distilleries stack up in taste and other fine attributes.

Is this the guy from LBL? There WAS a guy in/near Cadiz that blew up his legal place.

One of the tasting rooms I was looking at online Sunday was under new mgmt...no pulse on your old stomping grounds Jerry?
If you do not snorkel you should take up the sport Jerry...beautiful area to enjoy the under sea life in USVI.

You will love it there then...  Nothing says we cannot have a '18 and '19 LBL SOHCtoberFEST...
My CX is still disassembled
And I jneed to get back on it, it will be cheaper to get it back on the road than the cb. Even so, doubt I can swing this one if I am going to be able to get the bike rebuilt before bad weather sets in... Need to get back on a bike as I really need the two wheel therapy.

So, is there enough interest for a KY 2018 get together ? If so, someone needs to step up that can make it to organize that event.
