well after fitting one new drivers seat belt and having an odd front passenger one after a week it annoyed me,I knew it would so I replaced that one aswell, now I can sleep!

I like that steering wheel Dave.
How's your power steering ?

yes it was optional on some and standard on others, mine came with manual steering very heavy so I fitted the unit from a more upmarket "statesman",mines a premier, then below that was the kingswood then the poverty pack belmont.

it has variable ratio bendix bishop power steering factory unit Bill

Did the car come from the factory with that type power steering ?

Excellent, there's nothing like accurate steering in an automobile.  ;)

The most accurate steering vehicle I have is my 72' MGB GT with manual rack and pinion. After I serviced the rack, rebuilt the A-arms with polyurethane bushings, rebushed the kingpins, replaced the tie rod ends and rebuilt the steering column there's zero play. I can feel every rock, crack, bump, dip and imperfection in the road.
It's amazing to drive. 8)

Were you able to get the last little bit of 'bound' air bled from the master cylinder ?
Yeah, that must handle very nice;I like rack & pinion.

I haven't got to it yet, I'm playing catch-up between my radiation infusion. I just finished rebuilding the ignition switch on my 84' Honda Sabre 700S and installing a new battery. It fired right up so now I can put the fairing back on.

New shoes on the street car.

Looks fricken Awesome, Jag!!   Is it a '68 B Body?
71 Dart body.
But it really is a chassis car underneath.

Fired it up, film at 11. Cleaned the carb twice, one time less than a cb750 takes me.

Hi Don, when you say "Fired it up,"  what is "it" ?!!  ::)

We were towing home from the drag strip Sunday and blew out a tire on our trailer. I'm so fed up with the cheap ass 15" trailer tires. We've had a few tire failures but I caught most of them before a blowout.
I returned to the tire store where I got the last set of 5 and of course they don't sell "those tires" anymore. I've never gone back for a replacement tire and been able to buy the same tire as the last time.
I had my ramp, a bottle jack and battery impact and got it changed, the worst issue is moving the racecar to get to the spare tire well. On a do-over I'd have a wall mounted spare.
A State Police officer stopped and gave us some safety support. During the tire swap he asked if I was "all right? " I thought I was going to get a sobriety test, it turned out my arm was bleeding from a cut caused by the tire cords.
I told him I'm just old and thin skinned.

Two years ago when my buddy bought the new 10k lb trailer it had 5 different tires counting the spare. He made them get him a complete set of the same tires. They didn't want to do it.

A friend bought 3 open trailers stacked at a factory. He took his own tires because the factory used junkyard tires and the police regularly pulled them over to check registrations and safety items. The 2 that he sold paid for his.

Oil and filter on the old Volvo C30. I bought this car three years ago for about US$2200, from a friend that took really good care of it. Makes me smile every time I drive it!

Turbo charged T5 (5 cylinder) and a six speed! The dealer offered my friend almost nothing on trade in, so I grabbed it on a whim. It’s built on the same platform as a Mazda MX5 and Ford Focus. Always liked the style. Unfortunately my wife likes it too, so I usually end up with her FORD!

It's not mine, but I'm going to crew on a late model Mustang class legal stocker racing in a stick shift association at Cordova Dragway today. It was a body in white that sat for years before it got finished as a stock class racer. It belongs to Uncle Robin, he's one of the guys the Roadkill guys call for advise.

If you watch Motor Trend TV the Roadkill guys are Freiberger and Finnegan, sometimes Tony Angelo. They're on youtube now that Motor Trend was loaded with debt and stopped producing new content.
Robin was a Holley VP and helped with the Nascar and NHRA pro-stock move to EFI. He's retired to race his Cobrajet Stocker and run his Chassis and engine dyno shop.

Oh ! Sorry, I wasn't sure what Roadkill guys meant.
I haven't had my cable TV hooked-up for a while;for a bit I was curious if 'roadkill guys' had something to do with salvaging dead animals,my mistake.

The original theme of the show was having fun with cars. They fixed up and hot rodded old cars and trucks. Then take them out and drive them hard or take them on road trips.

Heading to Shannonville Motorsport Park later today. They have “Motion Mondays” on a regular basis for $60. The event is described as “controlled lapping”. Three groups get to use the track. Group three is for the most experienced (usually guys in their road going Porsches, ‘Vettes, etc). We use the evening as a perfect venue to bed in a few sets of new brakes pads, tires and make sure the car is ready for our next Enduro double header weekend coming up in July.

That is a great deal!  Have fun.

COTA in Austin never has anything like that, cheapest I've seen is $1000.
One time when my brother was racing, there was talk of them allowing us to do a "drive around" on the track at lunchtime. I brought my Yamaha pit bike, but it was cancelled.

Steve….l It is an amazing deal! Only a couple of hours, but we usually get three X 20 minutes sessions. Nicely spaced out, just right for what we are doing. They do it most Mondays, so if the weather looks wet, we just go next week. Perfect.

Ready to roll out in a few hours….. None of this actually belongs to me, but sure is fun using it up! Tim’s time is totally consumed by his business (local garage that employs 7 people) and farming his two properties and mine. I take care of of all the prep and logistics for the race team and the two guys from Toronto (arrive and drive) pay all the bills. This is season six and I’m loving it!

Great evening, everything worked as it should and we turned some very quick laps! We tested a set of “Westlake Sport” tires. They’re half the price of the Firestone and Toyo tires we typically use. The wear rate on the LF was high, but our next event is at Mosport where the track surface is more worn and much less abrasive. Will be interesting to see if they last eight hours?

Purchased some battery terminals for the '69 Mach 1 that allow my large cables to be soldered to them. It really cleaned up the battery area and should help with the "hot engine-slow crank" issue I had.

Also installed some new horns, the PO [before my brother] painted them and it was peeling. I don't think they should be painted so I just sprung for some re-pops.
Now ready for the annual Mustang car show in August!

Steve….. used the same terminals relocating the battery in the Lexus last week. Nice job! Looks good.

I've heard of Westlake tires, they sell 'em at WalMart down here.
Curious what the difference in lap times would be?
