On another note, I am trying to get at the dual front brakes. Below are photos of what lines came with the bike. I do want to upgrade to steel lines, but I am wondering if I should leave the splitter in the system or replace it with another set up? What doew the widget on the side of the splitter do?
Also, I was really trying to use this orig. master/cyl, but is so gouged up I think it's a lost cause for this bike. I saw another after market mst/cy on another post, anyone remember it? Should I upgrade now? Thanks for any input
Yeah, ditch the rubber lines Derek, and keep the splitter. Much tidier. Here's a reply I wrote to your question regarding you buying that MC on EBay.
"I wouldn't Derek, the piston is only 14mm, (same size as the OEM CB750 MC, so not good enough for twin discs) look for one with a 17mm or larger piston. A CB750F2/F3 MC is a good choice, and won't look out of place on your bike.
If you don't care about keeping the "classic" look though, go for a late model GSXR1000 MC, I tried one on my K1 with twin discs and braided lines, and damn near did a "stoppie" first time out! Cheers, Terry.
