« on: September 28, 2007, 01:17:28 PM »
Who has bar end mirrors and how good do yours work. I haven't found anyone that has them and I'm looking for some advise on what kind to get? Thanks

Those look pretty good, I wonder how good you can see with them - how bad the view is distorted from viberation?

The Halcyon classic stadiums have that 70's look if thats what youre after. I tried putting them on my stock bars but they were just too high. Now that Im rebuilding my front end they will be going on the lower bars.

I like the Napoleon brand bar-end mirrors.  They fit the styling of these bikes (IMO) and don't vibrate.  Plus, the visibility is way better than with stock mirrors.  I added little blind spot mirrors in the corners which really helps out in heavier traffic conditions.

I use them and I like them.

You do have to take you view off of the road a little bit more than a stock mirror, but if you'd like to see what's behind you rather than your elbow, they're great!  :D

+1 on the napoleons.

Halcyon is best for quality but pricey.  Napoleons are cheap but cheap. They're equal in the check your 6 department.

From what I've seen, the Halcyon and Napoleon mirrors cost pretty much exactly the same, and I don't really consider 30 bucks per mirror cheap when there are inferior knock-offs available for half the price.

I received these today from an ebay vendor for $35. plus shipping and like them enough to buy another pair for my Beemer. I can finally see behind me without my shoulders blocking the view. No vibration and very clear.

Bought a set of bar-end mirrors from Old Bike Barn (yeah, I know, but I haven't been screwed.... YET) and they suck. Whatever brand they are (Emgo, I think?), avoid them, as they use cheap plastic reflective material and distort badly enough to be next to useless. Returned them to sender.

I have the ebay ones on my clubman bars, they look great and work great.  Just make sure the bolts are tight after you are happy with the adjustment, and you are good to go.  Rear visibility is very good, with little distortion.

Go for the ebay.

Thanks, someone else said those too. They look good, I just wasn't sure if the viberation would make them hard to see with. As soon as I get the money I'll get me a set.

So which ones give a better rearview, straight ones, 90deg ones or the ones that curve to the front of the grips?
