Yup. No trouble brushing on the finned components at all.
I also had the heat up on the shop prior to painting and took the parts in the house shortly after.

The Interceptor was a lot of fun to ride last year, but even without all the additional engine work this winter, the clutch would slip coming on the power at around 7K so I ordered a Barnett extra plate kit from Dynoman Performance.

I knew that I had read some interesting suggestions on "how to modify the clutch for smoother action and longer life" by HondaMan so I sent him a message asking for a bit more clarification.
HondaMan is an amazing resource for everything SOHC4 and always willing to help.

I believe Hondaman recommends scrubbing those Barnett plates before you install them. Something about fibers clogging up the oil pump. You might want to hit him up on that as well....

Here it sits just before I plunked in on. All I can divulge publically is - Bwaller race proven, MRieck Stage III head with Kibblewhite 1mm OS valves, springs and retainers.
Valve timing provided by Yoshimura YR-2-31 Billet Daytona camshaft and new Honda OEM rockers.

Very cool, will be real interesting to see the dyno run as this is, after all, a street engine with electric start etc. Just how much power can a street 550/591 make and be reliable and rideable?

I swapped out the Dyns S ignition for a Pamco unit last night and the bike flashed right up and settled into a smooth idle. Too wet to do anymore test & tuning, so I’ll get back to you as soon as the pavement dries.

In its current state of tune (jetting aside) I certainly won’t hit the HP #s that Brent gets from his race bike. My Interceptor has benefited immensely from Brent’s tech contributions and it shows, but knowing and doing are two completely different disciplines. Brent has the fine art and science of extracting every pound of thrust, perfected!

Funny you should ask David.
I was just sending an email to Brent on the same topic.
This weekend I’m riding my bicycle from Vancouver to Seattle for the Ride to Conquer Cancer in honor of my mother. Been putting most spare time into training so I don’t end up buckled over in the ditch. Should get some seat time in on the Interceptor next week so stay tuned.

I’ve been using some inexpensive 18 LED signals I found on eBay for a while now and although I like the housing design, the LED circuit board is crap. Individual LED start to burn out leaving a weak and spotty effect so I’ve been on the hunt for a suitable replacement for some time now and think I’ve got one.

These are single 3W Eagle Eye LED signals housed in waterproof billet aluminum housings with 3M double sided tape. They’re very affordable at around $14.00/set and super bright.

Because it’s so easy to cut and shape, aluminum is a nice material for these small brackets.
The two spools are the same diameter as the Eagle Eye signals and provide a perfect guide for filing.

Thanks Branden. I made the spools on the lathe to use as radius guides. Same process I used on your rear-set brackets.

Thanks David. Yup, everything is back together but I just insured the bike today so I haven't any ride reports yet. Dr. D did a great job jetting the bike last year that it probably doesn't need much so we'll see how it goes in the next couple of weeks. Gotta get some saddle time in before Mooshie gets to the Canadian leg of her trip. That might be the next video you'll see.

Just in from another rip and I'm speechless.
The MRiech Stage III head and Yoshimura Daytona cam are a crazy combination.
The bike has a wicked top end rush all the way to 10K. Sounds nuts too.
Jetting is a mess since the upgrade so I can only imagine the Crotch Rocket shock that's coming.

Since we jetted it with the cam off by a tooth, and now with these changes... I'd imagine that would be the case. Let me know how I can help.
