Anybody Seen Or Heard From Kghost?
« on: January 06, 2008, 09:05:08 AM »

Been trying to rouse up Kghost for a little while now, with no luck. Anybody know anything? I've tried to PM him and using email. I know that he HAD been quite busy with work, the last time I got a hold of him, but he thought that things were getting better with some new hires. Any input? Anybody?

                                   Later on, Bill :) ;)

I also checked over on Naked Gold Wings forum that he HAS visited in the past.

Yeah, I hear ya eldar. Last time I talked to him (Oct or Nov), some new guys had been hired on and he said things should be loosening up so that he'd have more time. But, the last time I know he was on was in November. Hopefully he'll turn up before long. Take care eldar.

Do ya think maybe he's gone out and bought another brand of bike and has moved to another forum Bill? That happens a lot on this site..........  ::)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sure Terry, anything IS possible. I kinda feel like he'd hang onto "THE WING" though and he hasn't been over on nakedgoldwings in a while either. I know that for most of last year, he was pretty tied up at hos job because of a lack of qualified folks there which often left him without someone to take the shift after him and he was working some pretty long hours. In the little over 2 years I've been here, I HAVE seen some folks phase out but, I seem to remember that most would tell it before moving on. Even at that, I know of a few that have backed off quite a bit and yet, I can still reach them by email and I haven't heard squat from Tim. It just makes me wonder, that's all. I have a habit of doing that. I notice that someone hasn't been around for a bit and I just start inquiring because, I get side tracked with concern. I know that sometimes, there's nothing to be concerned about, but that's just me. :)

Yeah, I've loved Honda 750's since one of my classmates at school convinced his father to buy him a shiny new K1 (or it could have been a K0..........) when he was only 13! I still hate that kid................  ;D

That's the way I felt when a bratty kid I knew, got a new CB77 305 Super Hawk! It was red and silver! Beautiful bike, 1963 model. I'd have given ANYTHING to have had that Super Hawk. And yet, this Smart Alec Bratty Kid's Dad bought HIM one! >:( What a waste!   Okay, I feel better now, I'm cool (But, like Terry, I still Hate THAT kid! ;D)

Bill, my tatses are much less costly than a Vincent, and if you close your eyes- I'm better looking too.  If you get me one of these CCM's, you can come down and ride it anytime you want.  Really- I'm not kidding.  Just give me 24 hours notice so I can clean the bathroom for ya.

Well if we're gonna take time out to talk cars for just a mo, here in Oz, we have all the Jap cars (Ho-hum) and Aussie built Fords and Holdens (Aussie GM) but they don't look like American cars, and I do so love "big" cars.

Anyway, a couple of nights ago I saw a terrible thing on cable TV called "Monster Garage" where apparently teams of "mechanics" have to build "performance cars" from cars supplied by the producers and race them. "Fair enough", I supposed to myself, "they find an old junker and make something good out of it".

Not so, the team of female "fabricators" (who looked more like over-tattooed hookers, and knew less about mechanics than my wife) were given a pristine 1965 Cadillac coupe (don't know which model, as I said, we're starved of these sorts of cars here) in absolutely "mint" condition, and then they destroyed it (literally) both during the pathetic "build" stage, and the final insult was when they took it to a "Demolition Derby" and destroyed it.

What a waste of a beautiful classic car, and what a waste of a TV show! I'll never watch it again, those shows aren't for car lovers, they're for fools with no respect for motoring history. Dickheads. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Actually Bob, I'd load as many cars as I could lay my hands on and bring them back here, where I'd appreciate them! My heart still hurts thinking about that Caddy...........  :'(

I dunno about that. Your new Falcons look a lot like the Mustang from a few years back. I seem to recall something about the new Pontiac GTO being a Holden of some sort.

These things would sell like crazy if you folks would send some over.

You forgot the Aussie Chryslers

Yeah mate, I've got a Ford Falcon "Ute" (Utility Vehicle) same as that for my work car, 250 BHP out of a big 6 and 30+ MPG on petrol, (gasoline) but mine is a LP Gas (propane?) only model, so it's a tad slower, but very cheap to run as LP Gas is less than half the price of gasoline here.

Good car, and I've liked Fords for many years, we've had some great 1960's and 1970's Aussie designed and built "Muscle Cars", but no where near the range of models that the US (with 15 times Oz's population) enjoyed.

Chrysler Australia went "tit's up" in the early 1980's, and was taken over by Mitsubishi, so we were back to Holden and Ford, for mostly non-Japanese cars. For the period 1983-1991, Ford stopped producing V8's, so Holden (GM-H) earned the reputation of being the only "Muscle Car" producer in Oz.

Nowadays they both build beautiful big powerful V8 cars again, the "Ute" in your pic is available in the base model 6 cylinder variant, right up to a 400 BHP all aluminum V8. Great stuff, and we get a few Chrysler imports like the 300C, Jeep and Crossfire etc, but we don't have anywhere the amount of "Interesting" cars from the golden age of "Yank Tanks" that I like so much! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Terry,

Just curious, what does LP go for in your neck of the woods? It's not all that cheap here, or at least not as cheap as it one was, since many elec. utilities started using it as a "greener" fuel for their generators. It put a good deal of pressure on the overall demand in the U.S.

Hey Terry, my bud over here imported a genuine Mad Max car (clone), an Oz Ford Falcon which was known as a Torino in the USA. Wildest car I've ever seen or heard. RH drive w/ a 4 speed, BAAAD!

What is that yellow pickup? Looks like a modded 'stang.

Yeah Bob, I still remember how expensive gasoline was in Britain in the early 1970's, yet you'd drive past their refineries watching them burning the gas off the top? I wonder how much was wasted like that?

Now Gasoline is around $1.50 AUD per litre at the moment, so that's $4.72 US, per US gallon. By contrast, LP Gas is at an all time high of .68 per litre or $2.13 US per US Gallon.

Now with LP Gas most cars only achieve about 70% of the economy that they enjoy with Gasoline, so I suppose that in reality, it's only about a third cheaper than gasoline, but another benefit is tht it is "greener" than gasoline, and also a heap better for your engine, as it produces only negligeable carbon, so the oil doesn't get dirty betwen oil changes, which is quite strange, to me.

I remember taking to an old cabbie 28 years ago, he told me that he used to change his oil (with gasoline) every 6 thousand miles, but with LP gas, he went to 12,000, then 24,000 etc etc, and eventually let it creep up too 60,000 miles between oil changes, amazing! Cheers, Terry. ;D
