No luck getting to the dyno?

Bad weather moved in so shop cancelled dynos for the day...something to do with water getting into the ventilation system.  I believe Ron's in process of reschedule.

Thanks Joe. Yes, Mike, bad weather blew in and Ducati called me and cancelled. They say high winds blow water into their fooling ducts and they don't like to do it.

I was ready to go, but not too keen pulling it on an open trailer 5 miles in the POURING rain. So we rescheduled for the 24th, which was a big mistake as the 25th is my wife's birthday and she has reserved the 24th for some activities. Ducati resch for Sat, the 31st.

My shop was christened "Busted Knuckle Garage" years ago. There is a plaque (store bought and faux-distressed) hanging on the entry wall.

Bruce and I have been at it since 2008. In the last year or so, CBJoe has been coming by, Ed drifts in and out and Pat lends a much welcomed hand. any more and I'm going to have to get some bleachers. ;D

CBJoe has posted his results on his CB750 thread. Bottom line is he squeaked out 80 hp and about 56lbs ft of torque, IIRC. Torque number may be low. He's got some leeway to lean or rich the main jet and maybe squeaked out a little more. I had some personal problems and didn't get mine to the dyno. But I was there with Joe, and it was fun. The Ducati boys are real friendly and have taken a liking to our ancient projects.  The dyno master said, as we were leaving " I expect to see yours (mine , Ron) in here soon."

Mines on the trailer, and should be ready to go when they can take me.  I'm looking at some electric trailer dollies which would really help me transport, hook up, unhook, park etc.  Looks like around $225 would get a good one.

Looking for a floor lift also. Handy seems to be the best, at about $1300 delivered and partially set up. Harbor freight has a good one for about $600. But it has just enough things wrong that would, over time, make me wish I had popped for the Handy. For instance, the Handy is air driven for a smooth up and down lift. The Harbor Freight is an oil pump, so it goes up a little with each foot pump. And I'm not very steady on my fest. I need noth feet under control. Other things, rear wheel drop out, etc. Makes a difference.

Yeah, that's what they use at the Ducati shop. Worth the premium in price.

Misc Data: I took a compression test on the new motor. It was 180lbs straight across. I'm used to getting 240. May be from the extended overlap of the new cam we're running.

But sadly it was only 75hp and 49ft lbs.  But we've got something to work with, and I'm open for suggestion. More or less cam, I think I can handle the jetting. I'll get the graphs posted soon.

That's what I thought too. But I downloaded the attachment from Ducati to the desktop. Then I open the attachment on the desktop and there's nothing to copy. But even if I could wouldn't that direct a user back to my desktop for the attachment, which of course wouldn't be right.?

Ron, it sounds great. Long road buddy.

I wonder how restrictive that exhaust is compared to others? We pretty much know what your engine is. I forget what carbs??

Thanks Joe. :) Yeah, the fuel curves are pretty wonky, and the HP/torque curves are more or less reflected, at least over a certain RPM. Notice the dips at 6500 RPM.

Looking back through the thread, you mentioned the old pistons had higher domes, and suspected they may have been 12:1?

Ron...I was just wondering about Fuel.  I think we had unknown octane pump gas in the tank from a fill up many months ago... Didn't the dyno guy add some fuel from their shop?  Wonder what octane/grade it was.  I'm running super 91 Ethanol Free in most of my bikes from the Country Mark Coop from east of me.

I think maybe lower the needles a small bit and run some new fuel?
