I remember the old house well, I always felt like I was either going to fall down, or fall up. Magnificent view of the surrounding area but not person friendly. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

The garage in the middle of a post Rocket 3 tidy up. That's the K7 under the Super Tenere tank. The Vmax is outside getting some fresh air

Clever use of a skateboard!

i used to have a Vmax engine strapped to it until one day i rolled it out of the carport into the driveway ( both of which were on a reasonable to severe slope - this slope also caused Terry's BMW chookasaurus to roll of its stand and whack the side of the clown car ), i wedged it up against the garden bed, turned round and heard the ominous noises associated with a motorcycle engine strapped to a skateboard trundling off down the hill, i started running while at the same time thinking "what the fcuk am i going to do even if i can catch it ?"  it rolled about 20 feet down the hill then fell over, momentum caused it to roll over a couple of times before coming to a halt just before it would have dropped off the small cliff on the other side of the driveway. if it had gone down there it would still be there.
i no longer live in that hell hole of a house

Sounds like good material for that vintage Benny Hill show  :D

too much swearing

I’ll try and only use it on a “flat floor”!

Moved a table out of the main shop into the shed. That made room to move the air compressor and the Tig welder to a spot allowing more working room towards the front of the lift. Of course I didn't do any of that today. I slept a lot and took a 100 mile ride.

I didn't get to ride because I had to haul my daughter around. Her van had a flat tire but I did get a bunch of firewood stacked. It was high broken clouds and 74° so stacking wood isn't brutal out even though I'm in the shade. Still a bit left to stack and there's more off screen to the left. 8)

Kelly, the one waiting(we spoke on the phone  :))for a decision(81' black w/ orange stripe GS1100EX)0n repairs; do you think it will need all new seals and gaskets plus further inspection from having it's cases filled with gasoline for a certain duration ?

Kelly, that’s a nice days work with the neatly stacked firewood. You must go through a lot of wood in a winter there… Best to get it in and stacked so it can dry some more this fall before you start making the stack smaller.

All the wood is bone dry. It's been sitting there since the middle of June baking in the sun.
That's 6 cords of Douglas Fir, Walt the Wood Guy drops off that much every year already cut and split. I spent over 20 years cutting and splitting that much wood every summer. I had my fun so now I buy it and just have to stack it.

Bouncing back and forth guiding the oldest and his best friend on some choring, then playing with the 3 younger ones amongst a slew of side quests from the ole lady....

Getting real close just the workbench left to clean and organize

Of course I've already planned to add something...... A small sandblasting cabinet. Not saying I might not build it myself just not a 100 sure yet. Might just buy a cheaper one from jegs.

If you buy the blast cabinet from JEGS lay down a bead of silicone sealant along every joint and circle every screw hole during assembly. Ours is just about dust free outside, only leaks from a rear lower corner but it's so small I don't worry about it.

I tore down the old shed and built myself a 10x12 Dad-Den, with heating and it's own power box... But then my son got older. No room in the house for giant kids, so that out-building is the "college man's room" now. I now have...a 2x3 space I carved out inside the garden shed.

Walk in. Turn to the left, turn to the right. Back out, because there's no point in turning. Bring a fist full of tools to the other side of the house where the carport is. Go to where the bike is sitting on GRAVEL so that I can lose every &*^*# gray nut and bolt that comes off my Honda. Walk back to the shed cursing because "of course" a socket won't fit. Grab 17 & 19mm box end wrenches... go back to bike...squat... why the @*&Y*#$ do I have an SAE feeler gauge? Why do I even OWN an SAE feeler gauge?! Walk back to shed at an angry clip to get proper metric feeler gauge. Get distracted by the rust on the metric feeler gauge. Start polishing rusty tools.

Sounds like you could cross-post to the power off thread with no issue. Could be worse, your tool box could be in a basement. Magnetic tool tray or bowl is a good idea for working on bikes or vehicles...

I'm in an 11 by 12 lean to shop I built from used materials. Also with a gravel floor I thought man work is throwing out these black rubber anti-fatigue mats those would be great to cover my flooring in. It's nicer on the feet but now when I drop a nut or bolt it hits the rubber and bounces into Oblivion I used to be able to drag a magnet and find stuff in the gravel LOL

HAHAHA! Guess what? I put those mats down too. You're right, they are no help.
This week I lost the little round piece that goes into the rear brake arm. I didn't notice that it had fallen either so it was lost. I had 2 kids and me going over the gravel with magnets... No dice. It's likely in Oblivion with your parts.

Thank goodness I found a backup part in a box. Gravel is evil.

It really seemed like a good idea till I did it...... It did solve a few issues for me but made finding things worse. And yeah that part..... No sounds when stuff falls now.... Absolutely terrible

Be careful, I moved from a 864sqft shop to 1400sqft and the new shop was stuffed full. It took a year to build the utility room, replace the 200amp service, install the benches and get organized. I had no idea that I had accumulated that much stuff in 10 years. Now once or twice a year Barnacle Bill and I do a purge and haul a couple of truck loads to the dump. 8)

I'm on my 5th reorganization.
I started back into the 7x12 that my shop is built on to.

I'm actually on the way home with bike parts as we speak. Haha. Stopped for a lunch with my oldest son.

I know I have enough now to fill a 20x20.
I need to purge now but my heart can't stand to throw out good parts.
