Just made it though all 7 pages. Love ur style, and wish I had your fab skills. Lets see some more pics of the e30. I have a e34 sitting in the drive with tcd/custom stage 3 kit almost ready to drive. and a plane jane 86 m20'd e30.

im currently redoing the entire car for stage 3:
-5lug swap (bigger brakes/wheels)
-tcd turbo manifold & custom turbo
-new radiator
-roll cage
-sparco FIA seats and VAC billet seat mounts
-euro bumpers
-old school momo steering wheel
-manual window/sunroof conversions
-mason strut bars









not much to show right now but you get the idea... itll move faster once i finish the bike

I got my eye on that too.  But I just bought a Dyna 2000 electronic ignition.  You you know if these two systems are compatible, or does the Dyna 2000 require a battery?  Just wondering if you knew by chance.

yea, its the cycle x unit.

Im not sure offhand if this charging system can be run with an elec. ign. without a battery, but im pretty sure you can run one if you keep the battery.  Im using points still so no worries here

thanks guys.. incase you cant tell from the pictures, the graphics are sparkly silver (everything inside the black outlining is sparkled vinyl including on the oil sticker and oil tank graphic) and it all matches the silver sparkle seat.  i guess its not a rat bike anymore haha.. i have about $6500 in receipts plus a few hundred hours of time but she rides great and i get alot of looks on it

 Im currently working on a cb500 cafe build but the NEXT bike is hopefully going to be a bobber/rat..

just wanted to hear how that cyclex kick start system is working... you get the bike running yet? How does it start with that system? Would you say it kick starts easier?

yea, its been runnng... i have about 500miles on it.  the charging system is working great now.. i had some problems early on because i had DUAL 60WATT headlights!!!  At night time and during braking (when the brake light came on), the headlights would almost turn off.  I swapped bulbs for 35watt H4's and its much better now.  If the bike has sat for a few days/weeks, it usually takes 2-3 kicks but if ive been riding and its warm, it starts up first kick.

Also, you get the classic headlight flicker (you cant see it while driving it but the people in front say its like a mild strobe light).  Ive added a capacitor like the old kick start harleys/triumphs per ken at cyclex..im not sure how the headlight would look without the capacitor (maybe worse?).

Some people actually intentionally make their lights flicker... they add a modulator to their newer headlights because the flicker may help cagers see them.

nooo, if that was the case theyd be sticking up 4" through the trees 

-2 fork tubes from cycle x, stock springs cut down, heavier oil in the forks

for anyone interested, this bike may be up for sale soon.  any suggestions on asking price?  got about $7500 in receipts and a rediculous amount of time into the bike.  will come with a spare motor and other parts too!.  just took it on a 1500 mile roadtrip and its time to build something NOT hardtailed

the bike looks great, I am a little behind on reading peoples builds and just caught up on yours. I say keep the bike, ride it for a while. Do some paid fab work on the side to fund your hobby for the next build. Or if you cant seem to get enough of custom fab work and have no money to start the next project you can start doing what I have done and build bikes for friends and family where they fund the project. A win for everyone  that is if you are wanting to sell so you can start another project, which I was assuming.

What would you guess is the seat height your bikes? Im struggling with figuring out how to lower it enough for my short height. I have the same bike and cant decide if hardtailing it would be the best option. they look great by the way!

havnt measure seat height, but its low.  im 6' tall, and i can stand flatfooted over the seat and have about a foot of clearance, haha!  id imagine that its around 25"

Did you use the stock throttle, clutch, and brake cables or were they shortened?
