Ha ha, thanks Per, I did hear it slapping the chain guard on deceleration as I was coming home today, I'll adjust it before the next outing.... ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Very nice cb500 Andreas. Is it fitted with your own electronic ignition module?

I shouldn’t be admiring the red car in the photo, this is the motorcycle thread. But as I live in Ford Country……. It’s not too often I see a clean survivor Maverick.

Hey Kevin...I noticed the Maverick too!  I saw one last month at my buddies hot rod shop, they're going to put a monster motor in it!  Ha

BTW - the 2022 Ford Maverick is a truck!

Andreas,
Do they call this sport version of the Maverick the 'Grabber' as they do here in the US ?

The temperature got up to the low 50s today, so I took the 750 out for a ride.  It rolled over 166,000 miles during the ride -

There's a collapsed old barn in the background that I've watched disintegrate since the 90s that finally collapsed under snow last winter.  I've posted pictures of it on the forum over the years.

As always Greg, great photos and bike looks good in them.
Hope you get another good day to enjoy another ride soon.

It has been unseasonably warm here all last month, about 10-15f warmer than typical temp average. Makes for nice rides but boy has the temp been plunging after dark. Just to remind you it is really late fall/early winter. Rode Wed morning in 50f weather 30 miles to my weekly breakfast Bible study meeting  at 5am and by 10am dr's appt it was 70f and the insulated pants beneath the textile pants needed to come off but forgot to watch the temps to start shedding layers. Had stopped to kill some time on return trip before continuing to Dr. All the extra layers weren't needed then. Ride home and bike was showing 80f before getting back home around noon after another short stop. It reached 86 yesterday afternoon.

The weather has been weird here too David, last week I still had the heater on and was doing bike work rugged up with my beanie on, and this week it’s been in the high 80’s with tropical downpours. The temps have dipped again today, and tomorrow I think I’ll take my Rocket III out for another 100(+) miler to keep its battery charged up, I don’t usually ride it much this time of year as it doesn’t like really hot weather, but tomorrow it’ll be lucky to make it into the 70’s, so a great day to rock the Rocket. ;D

Well I had a lazy day yesterday after running around for the last week preparing for Christmas but today I promised myself that I'd get off my butt and go for a ride. It was another beautiful day here, unseasonably cool at only around 70 degrees when it's usually in the 90's, but that's fine, I drove over to my storage unit and pulled the K0 out for ride #31, or thereabouts.

K0 Monday 27 December 2021 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I did another trouble free 130 miles on the old rocket and had to take time to chat with the old farts who stopped me at the gas station and then again at the Heathcote Bakery to tell me that they "Had one just like it" back in the day. I was playing boy racer today so had to switch to reserve after only 128 miles, but resisted the temptation to fill it up on my way back to the storage unit, as I want to have fresh fuel in it whenever I ride it, and who knows when I'll ride it next? Hopefully soon. ;D

I took a ride out to Bob Weavers Honda, Yamaha, and Ducati dealership to have a look around.  It's about a 70 mile round trip.  It was sunny and in the 50s.  They have a huge showroom with new and used bikes and they also have a warehouse with used bikes in it.  I found some very interesting things in the warehouse:

Bob Weavers https://www.weaverfever.com

Valley Green Metallic K1 (my bikes twin)

1968 Triumph Bonneville

Norton Commando S model with Hi-Rider seat.  Hard to see but this bike has some special parts on it.

He used to have a couple of CBXs; one with a sidecar and one without but those were gone.  Overall it was a nice ride on a sunny day in April.

That's a cool Norton. We resurrected a 64' Atlas last year for a good friend. It is too bad that he didn't get to enjoy it, he passed away from COVID a few months ago. He called it the London Death Machine. 8)

Wonder what GPS actual speed would be at 115mph indicated on our vintage gauges?
I wish I made the Suzuki dealer fix the gauge on my ‘19 Vstrom 650 during warranty as it is further off than I would like and I think the ‘78 CX500 is more accurate at that speed! It is like close to 5mph at 50mph!
I had to adjust the low beam quite a bit too as it was aimed in driver’s faces!
Guess they didn’t expect me to ride much at night, I do quite a bit of riding after dark, especially in summer…

I always liked the sulfur yellow F bikes, they look good in yellow. yellow and polished aluminum and chrome really go together nicely!

You also know how to take a photo, getting to bike level makes for better photograph composition than stand up….
even gray skies can with the right mix of interesting things add to the photograph.

a colorful key fob could make it pop out…  the SOHC4 patches could be sewn to a leather fob to create a light weight fob that wouldn’t weigh down or cause wear to the ignition switch. The weight of a lot of keys over time and miles adds wear to automotive or truck or motorcycle ignition locks.

Good to see all the bikes out and about…

That is a beautiful bike mate, is that you on it? I almost swapped my Laverda 750 SF for a minty 850 Commando back in 2009, I've only ever ridden a couple, but they were nice bikes. ;D

I got this one started for a friend yesterday afternoon. I'll be riding it to the local bike night next Wednesday so he can put a FS sign on it. Very Very low miles on it, under 1,000 miles....
He bought it from the rep while he had his Norton shop and it's been parked since the late 70s. It purred. It's going to be a fun ride.
