At last after a long two months (minus one day)after purchasing my CB550F, she is registered and on the road. Feels a little strange to be back on a road bike after 30 years ( been riding dirt bikes)
So stopped at Austinmer Boat Harbour for a celebratory pic. What a top autum day for a ride. Will be riding her to work tonight, so let's see how I go in the madness of the traffic.
Hanging to get out for a good run and I hope we are going to have a long happy relationship.

Just went up for an afternoon ride up to Springwood for a meat pie and coffee with a mate & his Katana (near the Blue Mountains - Sydney) . Sydney is about 80kms in the background & can't really be seen in the photo. Was a nice day out.

Actaully, its a Kat 750 (pretty sure its '82). He has 7 Katana's, some running, some not and most of them being 1100's, but he likes the 750 better, perhaps a more fun bike to ride and rev out for him. Actually the kat 750's go hard too!
At a glance, the kat 750 & 1100 look almost the same to the eye, but close up, the 750 has one less fin on the head and 4mm alloy spokes instead of 5mm and perhaps a few other small differences putting aside the greater capacity of the 1100. There is bugger all visual between the two so easy to get them mixed up. They are great machines and also going up in value these days.
So i guess i'm the HondaFour addict & he's the Kat addict.

The Katana has an awesome design that was so far ahead of its time. Gorgeous. It's a worthy companion of the CB 750 Four. They just look great together. Thanks for posting.

I prefer mountains :) - went to Skyline drive last Sunday.

Few cars and cold, deer size of elk - no hunting up there - and great views.

yes these old number plates look much nicer on these bikes than the new ones with the blue EU symbol etc.
i have one of them, too:

you can still have them here if you're vehicle was first registered before a certain year (which i don't remember now...)

Nice 928.  The first porche I drove.  Neighbor was a car dealer and got one in in a trade. I was out front washing my pos Honda.  I asked and he threw me the keys.  I was 16... ;D
