Beautiful Pics, Andy.  Jerry, it only got up to about 54 in Birmingham yesterday, but yes, I rode.  Got out the 86 VFR, and didn't go over 110 (actually over 95), my buddy Cal got out his 95 GW, and we tooled around SE of Birmingham for about 50 miles.

Wow, Andy. If we had views like that, winter might be more tolerable here in Michigan.

Heard some sobering stats on this AM's weather for those of us living at, or north of the 40th parallel. In Ann Arbor we typically get 45-48 in. of snow each winter. Right now we are at 42". However, by comparison, last winter we almost 90" and I almost beat our little snow blower to death, poor thing. They mentioned one thing in comparing this winter to last. Despite our near record total snowfall, we had only 20" by this time last year!

Maybe I should go out to the garage and speak softly to the little Toro. ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Oh wow!  Amazing pictures.  I wish I could find a hike like that in Ohio.  We have some "hills" here but that's about it.

Yea, I rode a lot yesterday and probably will again today.  First I had the snowmobile out to make a trail in the back bush.  Then I hitched-up the husky to the dogsled and had a run on the trail I made.  That afternoon I spent about an hour on the ATV with the plow, cleaning out the driveway.  It got up to a balmy high of -1C yesterday!  Ride what you got!!!

Great place to spend a sunny day Andy!   Does the "top" have a name? Did you need snowshoes to get there?

Well, with wind chills last week -35 to -45 degrees, no I did not ride.  Heck, the kids did not even have school on Thursday or Friday last week.  Now add the record snow...no, I did not ride since November.  But my KO is 60 degrees in the house... ;D

The mountain was Mt Chocura, NH. Snowshoes were not required for the trail as it was fairly packed already. However crampons were required for the rocky summit ascent (see first photo). Going up it was fairly hot and I was in a thermal base layer and t-shirt only (-10F outside temp) -however wind at the top made it necessary to put on a jacket ;-)

cheers
Andy

I was working on my '75 750 re-build on Saturday. In the afternoon it was in the mid fifties so the '77 550 went for a two hour journey (a little dicey with the sand still on the road and an occasional ice patch on the side roads).  Sunday was spent cross country skiing in the nice new snow in Red Lodge.  Today will be 60 so must ride again this afternoon.  One good thing about Montana is that if you don't like the weather don't fret, it will change in no time.

It crossed my mind to get a few miles in yesterday when the streets started drying from a morning dusting of snow. The temp was about 30F but then it started spittin' snow again so I shelved the idea. Damn. Had to scratch the itch somehow so pulled some of the chrome parts off the '67 Bridgestone 350 2-stroker my so and I are working on so spent the afternoon in the cozy basement degreasing and polishing. Time well spent.

I was shocked last Friday to see a couple die-hards on Harleys sitting at a stoplight. It was 14 degrees and the one guy didn't even have a windscreen. I don't think they were wearing any of those electric suits, either. Nuts.

So far, though, its not been a bad winter. I've gotten regular rides in at east every couple weeks-- short rides, but regular. Can't wait for spring!

Andy,

You should park one of those bikes here and fly out for some rides. We still need to Ride the Rockies. I've always wanted to strap the skiis to my bike and head to Breckenridge for a day on the slopes. Wouldn't that look very interesting in the parking lot?! At least I'd be dressed for it. Another #$%*ty day tomorrow in the 60's and I have to work. That really bites. Even better Wednesday though and I'm off!!

OK so here in NZ we converted to Celsius yonks ago so I had to find a barometer that had the old scale on to compare with you States guys. ???
Today was a bit chilly with a strong Southerly blowing, it was 75 degrees Fahrenheit! :D
I got another 40 some miles on my bike around the bay and along the coast. ;D
Bike went well and traffic was light, keep forgetting to get my camera out though cos I'm having way too much fun. ;D ;D
Sorry. ;D

Any chance I can now get you fellahs to ride on the correct side of the road? :D
Come on these bikes come from Japland, even they ride on the left hand side so obviously your poor Honda's will be confused by the change.
Never know I may have stumbled on a way to get a few extra HP outa ya bikes! ;)

It got up to a balmy high of -1C yesterday!  Ride what you got!!!

I rode my bike the other day when it was 23F out. As long as the ground is dry, I'm good to go.

Its gone from 9F and over 4' of snowfall at my house, to 40F and 100-year flood levels in the local rivers in the past 3 weeks.  All the local farmlands are under.
Roads washed out or covered with water all over the place.  Not to mention the nasty sand and gravel built up along the roadways from the past snow.
Front tire is off for brakes and new rubber because it typically rains up her in South Alaska, er....i mean WASHINGTON, until July....

Yesterday, after the fog burned off, it was 65F and sunny!!! FK! Cant win 'em all!
