« on: April 16, 2009, 11:18:08 AM »
I just watched this lady on youtube after seeing her on the national news.
Her video had been viewed 12,336,268 times when I started watching.
The video lasted for 7minutes and 7seconds, I refreshed the page when the video finished to find that 651,771 people had viewed along with me. :o :o :o :o :o
Check it out and watch the count going up.

It really makes me wonder that so many people are surprised by this.

Since when has a pretty face been a prerequisite for having a pretty voice?

I looked up the lyrics, it is a deeply sad song.

I wish her all the best.  Very moving from many levels. Keep smiling.

Beautiful song. Beautiful voice.  Reading the lyrics, it almost seems to be her anthem, as she's never been kissed, lives alone, etc... very sad, very moving.

I will not be putting her on the Babe Thread, but I am sure they can't sing like she can. I am rooting for her. it would be nice to see a real person who needs a break get a break. Good on ya Susan!!!!!

Her story reminds me of an old Ernest Gornine movie named Marty.

I wish we got that show over here.  It seems like it might be more interesting than American Idol (although there are two very interesting people on this season)

Paul Potts still breaks me up.  He is my hero.  If I had a voice like his...

We do have Americas Got Talent, it even has one of the same judges, Pierce. We just haven't had the Ugly Duckling type stories the Brits have had.

This ventriloquist impersonator was pretty good. Sorry for the hijack.
But Fator wasn't an ugly duckling, having been in the biz for many years, just never broke thru to the big time till he won the show.

Susan's future is set if she can handle the fame.

She has a beautiful voice and all so I am not really taking a shot at her but the whole thing seems so contrived.  You can't tell me she hasn't been through some type of audition and the right people knew she had an incredible voice.  This idea that she just came out of nowhere I am a bit skeptical.  It's all so heartwarming a like warm puppy or a fuzzy kitty.  And that evil nasty Simon had his tiny Grinch heart grow 3 sizes that day. ;D
