I had a great time at Pomona.  May be not your style, but that hat I wore every day made me recognizable.  It's cool when even Chip Fosse says hello. ;D ;D ;D

Tin what's the hat?

It was a straw fedora made by Stetson (think it's this one Tews - http://www.stetsonhat.com/collections.php?prod_id=107).  Only one I saw in 4 days at the show.  Of course when you've dragged a bike all the way down from Canada in Jan, word gets around. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've been a few times.  It's a great Hod Rod Show.  The bike competition is almost ALL Harley.  You may/may not be the only Metric bike there.  Chris at MotoGPWerks has taken the prize in the past.  Take some time to browse the Greaser hot rod building.

Well I made it back from the Grand National Roadster Show. SOOOOO much cool stuff. Not that many bikes. And only 1 cafe. I guess people still are not over the lame choppers from the 70's. But anyway I took second in the Sportbike class. Out of 2. So this is basically the biggest participants ribbon or last place trophy ever. Oh well. The show was fun and if you ever have the chance to go do it. You could literately spend 3 days looking at all the cars and im not even really a car guy.

The detail and work that went into that bike  are very impressive. I would just like to know what the judges are scoring based on.

The winner is a MotoGP Werks bike based on a Suzuki TLR.  It's the same one that was shown at the Long Beach IMS show over a year ago in 2012.  Lots of aluminum fab work on that tank -- I'm not sure who he's using for that these days.  He's won the Grand National a couple of times (previously with a Ducati and a Katana), but has always been one of VERY few entries in the sport class.  The bike portion of that show is dominated by Harley entries.  I don't know how they conduct the voting/scoring for that show, but it does have an excellent car show.

If it makes you feel better, I doubt that bike has ever been started.

Well done!!

I know exactly how you feel.  My 550F (avatar) was entered in the Legend of the Motorcycle Concourse d'elegance in '08 and to just be invited was so cool, but to find out it placed was unbelievable.  I found out that I had placed second in a "sports class", too..only to find out that I had missed first place by 1/2 point due to the use of a tiny bungee strap to hold a small reserve battery in place down by the swing arm.  That's how close the judging was.  The judges all told me if I had used a regular rubber battery strap, I'd have taken first place.  Oh, maaaannnn..I would've almost wished they hadn't told me.  Same with your bike.  It's gorgeous, be proud and know that not everyone will look at it the same as you/we do.  Great looking bike, man!

Wow. I'm surprised. Most of his show bikes (Katana, Ducati, Suzuki Hayabusa Endurance Racer) have never been fired to my knowledge.

I'll admit that the TLR tracker has some trick kit on it, like most of his bikes, including all of the handcrafted aluminum. I'm not crazy about it personally, but it's still a very high end bike.
