Today I went for a ride and got it very dirty in the wet fog on muddy roads .... Cold for California. But fun!  (My CB is in the back there...

Took the Transalp out on a group ride today.

Melbourne was all blue sky and sunny, but around 4 degrees C at 8am.

We left the city and went out to the airport, then rode the famous "Mad Max" roads out there (USA people got that movie from us as "The Road Warrior"). Then we went up to Lancefield, through Pyalong to Seymour for a pub lunch, then down to Strath Creek, across to Flowerdale, up to Kinglake and down to St.Andrews.

Probably means nothing to a lot of you (except Terry here) - but these roads are magnificent and right on Melbourne's doorstep.

So if you re ever here - maybe we can take you out on them.

Prepped a spare cam and valve cover for install after new pucks and o-rings are received in today's mail.

Hope to be riding again tonight. It's been a couple weeks.

Yeehaw!  Hard to believe two sohc4 members burned out rockerboxes within 2 weeks of each other.


Anyway, the paint dried on my slicer, so I mounted it and put the wheel back on!

That was a fun little project.

I'm guessing mine was bad for awhile, but I had been too concerned about carb tuning to really dig into it.

Made a nice curbside score today on the way to a buddies house.
Somebody was giving away/throwing out a couple of paddock stands and some new Emgo anti-vibe bar plugs.
The black one is a Trackside with the paddles in the little box.
The white one has no name on it and the wheels need lubed.
So anyway that was nice!  :)

Also read through the Shop Manual a bit.  Great find.

The PO put some cafe' bars on my K4, but included the originals. I was planning to revert back to them.  Were the tall ones stock or aftermarket?  Are they replicas to OEM spec?
