70 PSI at idle. It has to be the pressure switch that's gone bad.

It’s probably fine you shouldn’t be doing a compression test at idle. Turn the engine over while your killswitch is set to off.

Finished my pandemic project XR200 a couple days ago I bought on the cheap a week earlier. Carb clean, fix compression release, new kill switch and a little checking over was all that was needed. Test drove it. Not much to worry about power wise on this thing as far as getting in trouble or over my head. Tame as a fuzzy little kitten, was hoping for a little more oomph. No more test riding today though, isn't spring in Michigan a wonderful thing -  ;D  Dang global warming ! - I should be picking some mushrooms maybe by now ---------

I know Sean would do it for sure Steve !! When I was a kid I usually rode most of the winter. I can still remember sizzling and steaming snow packed up around my engine on my little Suzie TC125. Good Times---

Today is one week since I painted my frame. Put the shorty shocks on to get an idea how it’ll look. I was going to sandblast and powder coat but I opted for a hot tank phosphoric dip and some vht roll bar paint in gloss black.

I replaced my "pull" throttle cable, trimmed and rerouted my new fuel lines, and went for a 2 hour ride to verify I'd fixed my fuel delivery problem on 1 & 2.

Eric, that xr probably does feel pretty tame out in the open on flat ground, but I bet it is a real weapon on a tight single track and will just lug a full grown man right up some steep climbs.  Unlike my crf450r, no concentration demands wasted on throttle control...
If it works good, it looks good...

This is true, a couple of my mates use XR200's for vinduro events over here
They love them, almost unbreakable , enough power, reliable
They're a lot less fragile than old air cooled two strokes and easier to get parts for
i blame Terry

Now that I solved my voltage problem by finally figuring out my 13 month old battery that measured 12.4 volts was actually a goner DOH! I'm moving on to some other maintenance.
I changed my oil pan gasket and the neutral switch, one or both were weeping, very slowly but weeping just the same.
Of course an oil change
I'm running through some checks like valve lash, points, etc., just to be sure. I may even check the carb synchronization just for fun.

After that's all done it will get washed and a ride will happen.
Happy Social Distancing!!

Another plug reading ride for 1-2 mm throttle lift. Mostly 70-80 kmh (45-50 mph) on 5:th gear.

When back home spark plug color  encouraged me to downsize pilot one step, from 27.5 to 25. Nice to have jets home. It idles cleaner now, better slow throttle response.

Bike take not much fuel when cruising really slow.
If a bike is ridden that boring all the time, no problem to make it run over 100.000 miles without engine repair. Inspired fun riding max half that, probably a third! :D

Went for a ride.  Found ice and snow.

Temps were in the 40s and the road was dry.  You did have to lookout for gravel when turning on a road.

I cursed the guy I got this basket/disassembled cb750k project from... they left this carb rack out in the rain, apparently. Or maybe they just stored it in the ocean for a while.  😡
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.

Pretty sure that is an auxiliary fuel tank. One member here actually was using one because he had issues with his original tank. Others use them for extended range fuel tanks.

RAF1225 you got it correct.  Tank went on first because I could not find a replacement tank.  Then it got plumbed in to extend the range of the bike.  The 550 qualifies as a IBA Mile Eater.  It has completed 3 Saddle Sore 1000s with the current tank setup.

Fired up my ever faithful Freedom Green K4 750 Friday after its long winter slumber. Quit riding it around the end of September last year which was a little earlier then normal and switched to my Bandit 1200 with a little better wind/cold protection. Did not do any 'winterization', just parked it.Little fussy but she fired up and felt good on her clean-out ride. This bike has been very dependable as an everyday rider for many years with very little problems. Did not have a camera with me but here is a pic of her without its soft saddlebags it now has.

Freedom Green Metallic is a really good color on a CB750!

I have a set I have used just a little.
It was after that I saw the "magic" color green with bluish that change in the twilight.

I had that K4 set on my K2 the first rides.  It match gauge faces really good.

It is clearly one of the best looking colors in reality.

While waiting for pilot jets.
I had to check valve clearance since  I heard a vague ticking at last slow ride in slow speed.  Like from one valve only.

The sound came from  1-2.
Worries about loose nut made me to pull tank and check all.
Ex 2 had a little little bit more lash almost 0.2mm instead of 0.15mm.  In 0.1mm
(cam RC295 profile)

Most of the other adjusters could be tightened just a little to the right feel when pulling the feeler gauge in the lash.

No bad signs of wear or lack of oil inside. No smell of metal powder either ;)

The lash caps might  been pressed deeper on the stems compared with before. Or I did a too quick adjustment last time.

Wider lash is not the wear I like, more understandable with tighter lash when valve (and spring) are seated deeper due to use, coming up.

Possible root cause:
I think that I did not check that exact last time. Most important then, avoid too small lash.

Before that cam installation with thicker film of assembly lube. Adjustment without valve cover, rocker pad on base circle, not using marks on advancer.
