I then also had my friend's girlfriend (she's a power lifter) move my motor out of the garage and up three flights of stairs into my dining room.

Guessing you are not married!  My wife would flip if I brought a motor in the house! [or a female power lifter!!]

Did you get some help to lift it off the floor for her;then she dead-lifted that heavy CB750 motor/trans off the bench and took it from there ?

So we're both good deadlifters - mine is about 360lbs and hers is about 330lbs. The weight isnt the issue, right. It's the weight distribution and the fact there isnt much to grip onto underneath (dont want to apply shear force to the covers). The stupid thing constantly wants to tip forwards. But we humped it up the front steps (three storeys!) and now we're all set.

She is good friends with my girlfriend. They workout together sometimes.

We figured out a solution though. When it's upside down I'll modify two long 2x4s so the mounting bolts can be used to secure the motor to them. Then we'll lift the whole thing like we're footmen transporting a nobleman on a litter carriage and it'll be a lot easier

I like the long 2x4 handles for two individuals;should work well.
How much does a CB750 complete engine weigh ?

Felt like a lot more than 176.5 lbs

+1 to that! I think the cb750A may even weigh more. What a pig! Had to slide it into the tractor bucket to move it by myself…….

Finished up a set of carbs for my cb750 K6 project. Set float heights and then did a “Bench Sync”. Been asked what I do, so here it is:

I usually prep a long shank, 1/4 drill bit by making sure the shank is smooth and burr free. I stick it in my drill press backwards and dress the shank with some Emory cloth so it is really smooth and polished.

I start by removing the idle screw/spring and park the spring off to one side. Screw the idle screw in until it touches the operating bridge and add a few turns to the screw. Adjust #2 carb so the slide just barely lifts off the bottom of the carb throat. Lightly lock down the top nut, without moving the base nut/thimble.

Next I crank the idle screw up until I can just slide in the shank end of the 1/4” bit, between the belly of the #2 carb throat and the bottom of the slide. Adjust it so the shank must be flat and centred to just drag in and out. Now using the top adjusters on the other three carbs, set them to the same height….. Lightly lock the top nuts and done. The rubber dust covers on the top adjusters are a pain, but I like the look and they keep the sliding contact faces clean.

Remember to put the spring and washer back in the idle screw! I always check the sync with my old Motion Pro sticks, once the bike is running. I’m often surprised how close this mechanical routine gets it.

Put the 750 on the table removed the swingarm, ordered stainless steel spokes for the front wheel to match the back wheel.

Now, just gotta find someone to lace it up.

Bushings are a bi1ch to remove. Got new brass(bronze) ones to go in. Still beating and banging to get the old ones out.........!!!!!!

Still debating putting the rear fender back on, and install the Lucus style light I have.

Maybe goat head and get a 16" harley wheel for the rear.

So many options

To remove the swingarm bushings I use 3 washers that are just under the ID of the swingarm. Grind the washers flat on opposite edges to form a double D until they will drop through the old bushings. Drop them in and turn them flat so they sit on the bottom bushings. Then use a long drift to drive out the bushing. Then drop 3 unground washers in to drive out the other bushing.

Thank you. Thats a good way to do it.

I finally got them out using a sawz-all with metal blade.

Cleanup time then reassembly, drop the rear, and prop up the front, replacing the forks with shorter CB550 forks.

Have a new Delkevic  exhaust to install aftere front end diassembly.

That's the greatest thing about those engines is you can do about anything to them. The car is a real beauty!!!

I'm just butting up right now from doing this injector job on my ram 2500. It's something I never did just because I thought it was going to be more of a job than it was. Only took about 45 minutes.
Now ready to go drive it around running better after I finish buttoning it up and clean up.

I managed to scratch the bottom frame rail on mine. Right about where your jack is holding the rail. Might be worth some tape just there?
