Cool speedo but i would rather have one that sits in my line of vision, with the amount of friggin speed traps around i would rather have my eyes on the road.....It does look pretty trick though..

You got that right!  Your old K1 forks have found a new home in Michigan and are performing beautifully!

Dude, thanks for giving us a great price, I know it probably cut you short a little, but you helped a bunch of us in the process...

that's funny, my wife said the same thing, but I got what was needed for the swap and wasn't concerned with turning a profit on friends.

I was looking into getting an Autometer electric 160mph speedometer with a magnetic pickup-
gutting it, and stuffing the guts in my case.
the tick marks are in the same spot as the stock 750.  I'll just have to get a speedo face redone to match the odo cutout.

here it is-

I'm not sure if I'm going to be using this tank anymore though. my forks hit it and my lock to lock suffers.

I'm looking into getting the Suzuki gsx250/gsx400/gs450 tank.

well, now it'll be hanging garage art.

I'd like to use it as a cover for propane tanks at some point in my adventures.

That new tank looks cool! Will you be keeping the Suzuki decals on it? :P

the thing I like about the tank is, it's about a half inch shorter and the front narrows and sweeps back like I wanted my tank to do.

I'll try to get one soon as I get some $$$

Awesome buildup! If I go this route, I will have to find a different wheel, as I will rot in hell before anything made by Hardlyableson goes on my bike!

it's ok to use harley parts, that's why the bikes were made... to make other bikes cool.

I'd say use the hub and get a shouldered aluminum rim and thinner gauge spokes from Buchanan.
The Harley spokes don't need to be that thick and heavy, it's overkill.
and the rim is super heavy too.
it has to be heavy cause it's Amurkun Steel VRROOM!  ::)  (Taiwan spokes and Italian rim)

Funny thing...

I am currently going back and forth between using a HD Fat Boy wheel (solid disc) and a spoked aluminum rim on my GSXR front end swap.

I know the Fat Boy wheel must weigh a ton but I've always loved them for some reason and I can't stop staring at the Wrenchmonkee 750 with the wheel covers.

I kinda like the fact that my bike can have the heart and soul of a classic Honda and my favorite bits from bikes of any type.

IC: Thanks a ton for arguably one of the best threads on the forum. You can add me to the list of copycats. ;D ;D

thanks man, i do my best :)

I'd do the sand discs over spokes.
might be easier to swap back to spokes if you don't like being pushed sideways by heavy wind.

Those are cool.

I did some research on the subject and what I found was a fairly evenly divided camp. One half had the disc wheels and had no problems with being blown sideways and the other half wouldn't ever try them because they thought they would be blown sideways.

I figure I plan to try to spend most of my time riding two lane twisties on this bike so it shouldn't be a big problem either way.

I'm more concerned with degraded performance associated with the excessive weight. Those sand discs would have to be lighter over spokes. the cost of adapting them to fit a bike wheel might be an issue though. Either way thanks for the link.
