Speeder has gun pulled on him.
« on: March 18, 2010, 02:25:27 PM »
Fellows this is wrong, it's called brandishing a firearm. I don't give a flying fuk if he is a cop (a damn pig in my book).
I went to school with cops of this caliber, high on the power trip. If someone can find out where this happened
I'd like to start a mail/email campaign against this pussy before he shoots someone.

I think a little more info is needed before deciding if the cops actions were or were not appropriate.

Nonsense. My preconceived notions tell me all I need to know to form a judgement about the context of a 24 second YouTube clip.

As is a common enough occurrence that it could even be considered a possibility.

OK.

Guy gets out of a car with a gun. Not in uniform, no badge, and random non-official car.

I promise that first chance I get, I would take the gun away by any means necessary. How the hell am I supposed to know if you're a cop or some jackass trying to steal my freakin motorcycle or shoot me or wtf ever?
No.

Ditto! The dude on the bike was backing away but it's hard to back away fast on a bike.
I think I'd have gunned it by him. Probably been shot in the back.

BTW, Mark, back when I went to college where I majored in Criminal Justice and did an internship with the Raleigh NC police department one thing I realized real quick was I wasn't cut out for that work at the age of 22. Why? Because, I'd go on someones arse in a heartbeat if they mouthed me etc... In other words, at that time I couldn't keep cool. I also remember their were several who entered the "profession" with a clear power trip in mind. There seems no clear way to weed out both since they can play the game when evaluated. I'm of the conclusion that no one should be allowed in law enforcement till their about 40 years old. And even then
some shouldn't.

I freaking hate the cop mentality/ personality . They are trained to control every situation , i hope they all have horrible relationships at home.

side story> I was on a date  with a gf of mine when i was pulled over , i pissed off the cop by smiling at him when he was question my girl, the bastard took off his gun, belt , badge and threw it in the car and danced around trying to kick my ass , said he didnt "give a fu@# about his job"  .   I was let off with a warning.

Well, for one he had a marked unit pull up right behind him, and two, as he was coming down the ramp he turned and looked over his shoulder at what was behind him (the guy in the unmarked car) so I think he knew what was going on.  Early in the video when he was pouring on the speed you can see him pass the marked unit in the median of the highway.

I've met some great cops.

Even some in situations where I was being, eh, escorted to a place of detention.

Doesn't matter. Some dickhead with nothing identifying him as an officer of the law pulls a gun on me, he had better be very careful.
No.

and the point is this one should never have pulled his gun. He should have shown Identification. I hope his hide is nailed to the barn door.

I didn't notice the marked car. The marked car was not there when the unmarked car went in front of him, an un-uniformed person jumped out in front of him with a gun, did not show him a badge, and did not even see him identify himself as a policeman in any way.

At about 11 seconds into the first video posted (the one with sound) as the cop is re-holstering his weapon I can see his badge attached to his belt near the holster.  Also, as he's telling the guy to get off the bike he does identify himself as State Police.

Yeah, I hear him say state police. I don't think I'd be interested in trying too hard to find a badge on a belt half under a sweater, though.
I think I'd want to see it, for sure.

He had his gun out as he got out of the car and said get off the bike at least three times before "identifying" himself. Classic case of a moron with a badge. That's not a blanket statement about cops...or morons, just about this particular situation.

It's not clear to me if the rider knew that there was a marked cruiser behind him. IF he knew my opinion might be altered...but not by much.

I'm sorry.  Depending on the state, that badge was NOT in plain sight.  And that makes the difference between a legal stop and brandishing.  And while the dude was going about 90 at one time, he had slowed way down before that marked cruiser did the u'ey

That hyped up sawed off little runt was all full of testosterone when he jumped out of the car waving his gun, looks as though the sawed off little runt backed off, and holstered his gun when the uniformed officer got out of his patrol car.
Probably the only reason that sawed off little runt didn't fire his weapon is because of the marked patrol car behind the bike.
I'm sure his uniformed colleagues shook their heads in shame for the sawed off little runt.

I'd like to see the sawed off little runt lose his badge over that.

I've always been afraid of the cops.  I wish that wasn't so, but that's the way it is.

One of my best friend's father is chief of police (and a really nice guy).  My friend is a security guard.  My friend kind of thinks his job is boring.

I've always thought that being a cop would be an interesting job.  Not a boring job, if nothing else.  And kind of a brotherhood sort of thing (I never see two physicists parked side by side at a gas station chatting it up...).

So I asked my friend why he doesn't become a cop.  After all, he's got the perfect in - his dad is the chief.

He said, "Yeah, but all the cops I know are #$%*s."

I said, "That's exactly why you should become one."  (Because he knows the difference, and I think would be a really good cop like his father.)

Yes the runt was wrong and probly remembered the marked car has a camra on the dash.
The guy on the bike was being a little on the stupid side driving wise also.
