Jeez that is beautiful the way the tank flares slightly to fit around the top frame tubes.

Agreed 100%.

I have to say, if you put a belt-driven alternator on this bike after putting so much work into doing that beautiful tank and cleaning up the triangle by moving the oil to the swingarm, I am going to swim to Norway just to piss on your Christmas fish!  >:(

Adding the alternator would be one thing for a bike that's supposed to be ugly, but for a bike that's getting so much attention to looks it would be an absolute sin.

Looking good! that tank turned out great. You have a lot of work into it. I love your triple tree too. I shaved mine down but i need to fill in the holes.

Thank you all:) Think it turned out nice:) Pretty pleased with it.
Maybe some pinstriping and decals?

I do agree:) have to find a way to make it pretty:) Or else it has to go.. But will need some extra power to run the fuel injection..

There are options (like using VFR parts) that will give you the power you need and fit inside the original location.

I'm a newb to this site, but not an engine newb.  So, I gotta ask....are you worried about the oil cooling dropping temps too low?  High RPMs with low oil temps could result in poor oiling.  If nothing else, I'd throw a temp gauge at it the first few times you take it out to see just how low it gets on a cool spring morning.  At twice the oil capacity and infinitely more cooling, its something to consider.

The tank....nice job!  It looks amazing!

Strynboen: Yes, that is a Nippondensco alternator. That is the same one I used on my SOHC 750.

Will get the same amount of oil as the stock tank,so not to concerned about the oil temp. But will take your advice about the temp gauge:) thanks:)

Nice build you got there:) Does it deliver enough power to run the fuel injection?

Lordmember, nice build. Concerning the charging system, it seems you have to tools and skills to fabricate the pieces needed to mount the vfr alternator. Something to consider.

Thank you:):) It was your tread that inspired me to convert to fuel injection :) Will consider the vfr alternator, if I can make the parts I will go for it..

Thanks again

Lordmember: Did you have your Lutefisk yet?  I'm having some next weekend....love the stuff.....

I hope the festive season was good to you. I am so glad it is finally over! Now maybe I can get back to the important things again.....motorsikles!!! I actually did a bit of tuning on the SOHC today.....Felt real good to be back in the shop again.
It's quite warm here this week, but too much snow on the roads and streets for riding. It is supposed to rain here this week?

Take care; Clifford

Hi Clifford:)
Christmas was great:) Had Lutefisk, pinnekjøtt,kveite, ribbe og kalkun.. Think we had most of the traditional christmas food.. love lutefisk to, but the kids hate it:):) Did actually do some wrenching this Christmas, had the oiltank/swingarm welded some more and put back on:) all that are missing there are the mounts for the shocks.. Will take some pictures and post during this week:) Not much chance of riding motorsikles :) here till mid April its almost 1 meter off snow but not to cold:)

Happy New year :):)
