kick-start clears the rear peg when its folded and comes "really close" to the front one, but its do-able...

Had to be sure 'cause its kick-start only...I enjoy pain I guess..I kid, but if your bike's in good running shape...no reason it shouldn't work every time.

Very nice job you are doing. Great looking seat too.
I liked the colors you painted the engine with.

Thanks..I'm getting paid this week so should be a new shipment of parts and updates w/ pics within the next 2 weeks...
Hopefully, I can get a good set of carbs soon.
I've decided on a smaller 5.5" headlight. Should be in the mail this week.

So what bike are those controls from?  CBR?  R6 maybe?  My bike needs the whole handle bar replaced and I am looking round what to use.

...from no where. They appear to be knock-offs of Pazzo levers, but dunno for sure. I got them off Ebay for under $100. I was skeptical at first , but they weren't too expensive so I figured I'd give 'em a shot. When I got them in I was really impressed. They were really good quality...as good as a Nissin set at least. I'm happy with them and they were a good fit.

« Reply #207 on: August 30, 2011, 08:12:06 PM »
Looks like I lost a few odds and ends I'll need to replace and I have no idea where to find them.

Looking for the retainer spring that holds the rear break arm to the inside edge of frame.

Missing pretty much all the bolts that hold the front brake assembly together (to the fork)  DOH! WTF!?

Missing the bolts that hold the front disc rotor on ...wow.

Looking for a parts list for all the electrical so i can "figure out" whats missing.

Missing the small cylinder that fits the rear break arm to the long shaft on the drum...

Yep..I'm one of "those" people that is good to go as long as I have the part in my hand or in visual range, but as soon as it leaves my hand or gets out od sight it gets absorbed into some kinda black hole I guess.

This is a great build, very similar to what I hope to put together - although I'm currently at the "Disassembly" stage.
How'd you get those levers to work?  I love that style of levers and Pazzo is down the street from me, but they don't carry anything that fits an SOHC.  Did you fit controls from another bike or is there another part that works that I'm not aware of?

BUMP!...So Anyone got any of those parts I mentioned or know where I can source 'em?
Here's the "list" again...

Need the little cylinder thing ma-jiggy that the rear drum brake line attaches to.

Need the return spring for the clutch lever (the one under the cover)

Need the return spring the goes towards inside edge of frame for the break lever

need mounting bolts for the front caliper to the fork

need the mounting bolts for the front rotor

need a ton of small screws the appear to go in or around the battery tray and tool tray e.g. the ones that mount everything to the bike and the electrical.

looks like I may pick up another cb750. I'm going to use it as a parts bike. My dad will likely pick some off off it too.
Its been converted into a "chopper" of sorts so I'll have to see what I can pay for it..trying to go as cheap as possible...no title of course..

A couple of coments: There is no returnspring for the clutch lever. The returning is done by the clutch springs themselves which are a powerful combo. You may have a problem in your clutch.

The bolts for the battery box are shoulder bolts which pass thru gromments. Special hardware.

Ron, I think Freebie is saying that the little spring that sits under the clutch cover behind the kick starter is missing? Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Oops my bad. There is a little spring there, keeps tension on the cable.  Been a while for me.  :-[

Well, I found all the parts I need on a donor bike I picked up today. Sadly, it is repeat with the of "70's chopper cheese", but my da is taking the front fork tubes since they seem to be in decent shape...the rest will go to the sales section.

My dilemma is this: I think it might be slightly older than I thought originally and there are some really weird things afoot with the parts on this bike that aren't making any sense to me at all. I decided to make a separate build log for it in case I decide t keep it. Only trouble is the thing has no title...C'est la vie   Link http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=95181.0 added here to the build  or "un-build" log.

Found the matching "flip up Tarozzi passenger pegs online, but at $100 a pair (I'll probably end up getting them later~LOL)...I just thougt I'd try something different.

Love 'em or Hate 'em..I've grown quite found of these already and at a whopping $8 a pair...who can blame me?

Just wanted to try something different and unique w/ out spending a bunch of money...
So far I'm still waaay under 2k on the build and I want to keep it that way.
They are fixed, but I leaned the bike over on its side and my thighs will get road rash before these do.

Did you get them at Sears?  They look like a handle from impact screwdriver  - but why not?  :)

So it would seem that the trashed out an crusty Hooker exhaust that was on the '71 cb750 may actually be usable and save $400+ buyin a new one...at least for a little while.

Pretty satisfied that I can now start moving onto the real suffering: A.K.A.  "The electrical!"

Re: FREE BOOTER's CB750 K5 - Got my Ballistic battery/added pics of new bits
« Reply #223 on: September 24, 2011, 10:33:20 PM »
Ok ..I opted for the 8cell battery from Ballistic. Wow! This thing is small and light!

I also tried out Fanken Stuff's new points cover. Slapped on some paint and bolted it up. Started getting some ideas too. I think I'm going to grab one of those Pamco ignitions. I have an idea i want to try out with one, but I'll post that on another day when its done.

Also...(and I know in advance there will be those "purists" who will bust a blood vessel) I chopped my 75 Fender and mocked it up on the bike with the tail lights. Hey...at least i didn't cut up that JDM '71 Fender right? Its for sale to the highest bidder along with the JDM '71 triple BTW...Muwahahahaha!

I think it finishes off the rear nicely!

Anyway...open for questions comments or suggestions as always.
