And now for the woman's perspective, ie "woman's logic"...
WTF?  If my guy, the guy I loved and lived with really wanted the bike, I would have given it to him two years ago when he asked for it in the first place.   But then who I am I to say?  My guy is giving me a BMW... now that's love.

Thank you Coldright!

Cupcake, this is what we have been getting at but from hardened-from-the-years-of-experience-old-guys-that-know-better method of messing with you.

2 things I haven't mentioned. Is that a scheming conniving female way to say she wants windows (if she'd put the money to windows) but can't just say so in a male like "I'm getting windows" way (sorry Coldright if that implies anything-not intended) or perhaps she should give you half the proceeds for your efforts to increase the value of her bike?!
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

And up what part of his anatomy did you have that large sword Coldright when he promised that?
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Yeah. I'd love to have a woman that was as selfless and Coldright.  But then again, I get to be selfish, in my own way as well, so it kind of balances out.
The windows are part of the business plan that we have for this house we bought (with her $$ as down payment and my $$ for materials and my labor)
She has been starting her own business this year and up until this summer she had been doing consulting work.  She has had a few run ins with being flat broke over the past few years and she's not cut out for it anymore.  She's been down to her last dollar with two mouths to feed in the past and she has a thing against it now. I can't really blame her.

She's getting further away from bikes in general as she is a former mechanic from a past life.  In the time in the past year when she was struggling with $$ during the business start up, she decided to sell the her bikes.  We don't have them all registered due to cost so they don't get ridden.  They are her bikes for her to do with and she is completely within her rights to sell them.  I just happened to replace an engine in the one I have my eye on and I can't get over the sound of the 4 into 4.
We have 8 bikes between both of us and four are registered (2 of hers, 2 of mine).  Maybe I should let go of one of the sitting bikes?

In better news, I got my 750F project out on the road (illegally) today.  I forgot how fast they really are until I was going 70 in a 25. (whoops)  I may have to stick with that bike my only SOHC.  Until I get my other engine put together.......

But to all of you old, jaded, crotchety men:  Hold my place in line at the soup kitchen, please. ;D
"Sure, if you don't want that bike in your backyard, I guess I'll take it."  "I'll probably just scrap it......"

But to all of you old, jaded, crotchety men:  Hold my place in line at the soup kitchen, please. ;D

Now why do you have to be like that? You asked for advice and now you're calling Terry and Jerry crotchety old jaded men. Yeah, they might be crotchety...they might be old...hell, they might even be jaded but that's no reason to throw accusations about after you asked for advice. In their own way they tried to help you out...even though you've just presented pertinent facts in your most recent post that might have altered what they had for input into you're situation.

AND...for what it's worth I'm way more jaded than either of those guys...possibly older but no way near as crotchety. ;) Jeebers man! Get it straightened out! Sell something that you two aren't using to pay for your freakin' windows! You've got a business plan? Make it work! Nothing is written in stone. A good business plan has flexibility.

Jerry...Terry, sorry to hear that you're both so "old, jaded, crotchety". It's too bad that a young, naive, free spirited fellow had to throw those words out there.

Mike

Oh yeah...except for a couple of serious things I had to say... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that I approach things differently.  If two years has gone by and the bike has just sat there, then the money isn't the issue.  And yeah, I'm sure that the windows are important.  Here we have places that resell windows (often new) at a fraction of the cost.  I would look around for a reuse place to see if there are windows available.  Houses are expensive and, honestly, if you can't afford your house and you have 8 freaking bikes, come to some sort of compromise... work out a plan that makes everyone happy.  How much is the bike worth on the market?  Sell something else, budget a payment plan for the windows, something anything other than being on a different planet than the person you love and share your home with.  That bike isn't worth the relationship.  Period.

And we do grow them big and strong in Oregon.   ;)

Burn the house down mate, and poke her back in with a stick if she tries to get out. Hell, I'll drop by on my way to Oregon and do it for you! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I'd lose all my bikes, my guns, my dad's guns, my guitars, fiddle and banjo if i burned it down.  I'll wait to sell it then just happen to put all of my stuff in one truck while all of her stuff is in another.  Then I'll tell her that I bought a house where I really want to live instead of this backwater dump we live in now.  I'll have some dough by then.
