Hello All! I am new here to this forum and my name is Joe, I own and operate Joes Performance/DWMS Racing here in southeast Alabama USA and this is my personal CB550 Supersport project that I have going! This bike is very sentimental to me as it was my first big bike (non dirt/enduro bike) and I have owned it since I was a child! It was parked several years ago and I had the engine out and sitting under the workbench for several years so as you can imagine it was a complete mess! I got her out and started cleaning her up, painted the block, cylinders, head, etc. engraved the sprocket, clutch and stator covers, sanded and polished the heads cooling fins and the whole top shelf of the fins, and polished the rocker box's end cap. I am currently polishing on the covers I engraved and as soon as I can get them done I am going to start on the chassis! Here are some pic's I hope you enjoy them! more pic's over at my website if you would like to look! www.dwmsracing.com

Polished the fins...

...polished the whole top shelf of the fins...

...engraved the sprocket cover...this is not polished yet!...

...engraved the clutch cover...also not polished yet!...

Thank you for the compliments! The colors are Titanium Silver Blue on the block and head, Flat Black on the cylinders, and Burnt Copper on the valve cover and intakes. The inlaid color in the engravings is the Burnt Copper as well.

I cut all my engravings here at the shop, I draw them in pencil first on the cover and then cut them out freehand with a hand held rotary tool and various cutting bits depending upon the design. If anyone would like engraving done just contact me through my site    www.dwmsracing.com    and yes I am building the whole bike and will use this thread to keep adding photos to as I get it done! I wanted to get the engine done first and then I will move on to building the chassis!

Is the Burnt Copper a VHT or Duplicolour paint?  I like Titanium Blue, your's came out looking darker than mine though. ;)

I had just a few to play and worked on the cylinder heads fins on the other side of the engine...and yes toxic I have a few creative ideas for the chassis build! Thank you all so much for your compliments, they are what drives me!

here is the clutch side of the engine...still have not had time to polish the clutch cover or oil pan yet!

Thanks again everyone for the compliments! I can not wait to have her all togethor but I really want to take my time on this one and spend a lot of time on detail while building the chassis. The seat/tail section alone will probably take me 2 to 3 weeks of spare time to do but in the end it will be worth it and I have never seen one done!
