Thanks Andy. I got that seat last fall on Ebay from a bike salvage yard seller. It came from Southern California and I can just imagine what the original machine looked like, the seat is definitely 70's era!  It's a stock seatpan and no idea who made the seatcover. The foam is too soft and it is pretty uncomfortable, but I can do an hour, which is usually all the time I have to ride right now. I plan to get firmer foam for it at some point.

Here is a shot before I put the signals on....oh and the front brake line!

Amazing work! But your search for a 4into4 is warranted.  The 4into1 doesn't do that beauty justice!

I don't know how you guys manage that level of restoration.

Mine looks pretty beaten up and I just don't see myself having the time or money to do anything close to that level of restoration.

Eigen, I am on your side, I could never do what these guys do, not so much the money, more lack of skill, got to admire their dedication.
As for me, was lucky I found one already factory and a lot of elbow grease, cleaned up sweet. Never the standard of some of these bikes, but she still makes my heart beat every time I see her.

I ought to show you guys my before and afters some day.  Can't do it yet because it's not running (hopefully by next Saturday I'll have the head back on).  But she was quite a barn rat.  She'll still look like one when she's running - but at least she'll run.

Another pic. I think this is the best one. I don't think I have any more plans for this bike. I did just replace the stock hose with a stainless steel one.

I think in the distant future I could see myself pulling the engine, redoing the frame, and replacing the valve cover gasket, and putting it all back together. But I don't think there's a need! Much more stuff to do.

Maybe move up to HondaMan's ignition may be next in order? I don't mind the points. Just replaced the points with NOS points and it runs beautifully. Not really cold blooded, either.

Tews19, I met a guy a bike show I attended with my 550 and he told me he had a set of pipes from a '75 that his father took off a new bike after riding it home from the dealer, so, they had been in a barn since then. I got them for $400, it was my lucky day!
