Great thread and great bikes guys.....The anti cafe thread...... :P  {and about time too ;)}

 I feel the same way Retro, If hear one more person say they're going to "CAFE" their bike, I'm going to puke. Stock Rocks!

I understand what you are saying.  The last three bikes I have restored I did so stock.  My only problem with a lot of the stock restorations are the generic looking seats that I know from experience are not very comfortable.  And very few of the paint schemes in the early 70s Hondas do anything for me.  Especially with the smaller side panels they used.  Of course, this is only personal preference and that is why there are Almond Joys and there are Mounds.  Bud Ice and Coors.

I do love that sound, and I really missed it. Here's that video link- took it with a regular digital camera, so the sound quality is not great.

They are great. How's it run with the stock pipes? Better then the mac? Did the Macs pop on deceleration?

Thanks!

Orange, I see absolutely no difference in the way the bike runs with the 4 pipes vs. with the Mac. It ran great before with no poppinig on deceleration and none now. I had asked Two Tired a while back when I first installed the Mac if I needed to rejet, and he said that the '74's should not need it (but some of the newer 550's might), so I guess that  would explain the lack of difference in performance with the 2 systems. For me the switch was purely about aesthetics and my desire to get back to stock. Cosmetically they do indeed look great. I always loved the rear view of the 550 and 750 K's with the four pipes. Young & Greggo Nice Bikes!

Wish we could all get together at one location. Is there an "Annual SOHC 4 Event"? I searched, but didn't get anything. I was thinking of someplace central where we could meet for a day or maybe a weekend.

We had a kinda sorta state-wide get together last summer.  It was part of the "SOHC4 US, Canada and Beyond" relay.  There were 11 of us that met up in Detroit, rode to Hell.  Three continued on to Kalamazoo.  A few days later, a herd took the relay North to Traverse City, then to the Sault, then Marquette, then Wisconsin....  Was a GREAT time!!

Here are a couple of pictures of  my 1972 cb 750.  The bike is completely stock except for the windshield I added (a must where I live).  I am the third owner of this unrestored, 31,000 mile survivor.  This bike had 19,000 miles on it two years ago when I bought it.  I enjoy riding my bike and not hiding it in my garage where no one can see it!  The only breakdown I have had is that I ran it out of gas, once!              Justin in Texas
