Just be careful, Bill.  Shedding a bunch of weight off your package sounds kind of painful.  ::)

Billy, are the exhaust spigots stock early parts on that stage 3 head? If so, can you measure the ID? Thanks. BTW, just what does "stage 3" mean? Is it the same as a "3/4 race cam"? ??? ;D

Scottly, you are looking for the ID on the exhaust spigot on an early K head?

If so, it's 1.52" O.D. and 1.42" I.D.  This is from a factory 5/1970 KO head.

Thanks George; that's exactly what I was looking for, but, now that you mention it, did they vary over the years spigots were used?

Correction.  1.57 for the O.D.  Just checked and it's the same for my late K0, mid K1, and both K3s.

I've got a k6 motor I could check, but it's not here at the moment.  I could check tomorrow if it's important.

Naw, I think it's safe to say all exhaust spigots are the same, unless someone knows otherwise. Thanks George!

Scottly,

I think most of us refer to a Stage III head as ported and polished with 33.5mm intakes vs a Stage IV that takes this to 34mm intakes with the 5mm stem conversion kit.
