Patina or no patina, a good running 750 needs a proper set of no number pipes rumbling out the walking tone of the 4 cylinders. It's unbeatable and addictive.
Modern in line 4 bikes lost their soul with the screaming 4 into whatever systems they have.
Just my two papayas worth.

I hear you Maui, but to put those pipes on will increase the price about $2,000. I am trying to keep the cost down for the next owner.
Progress today on the front end. Brake system back on along with the bars, gauges, bucket electrical connected and surprisingly noc
orrosion on the bullet connectors. Very lucky with such low miles the original gauges are awesome.
Lubed the dry speedo and tach cables. Need to replace the headlight at the low beam is out.

Those are the bars that came on the bike. Look the same as the other 69. Maybe it was the fact that I could not stand those faded and dirty grips on there.
Had to change those out. Those old grips were a bit to much ugly patina to me.

Yah I looked at the other pic and I see what you mean. This bike came with the 71 plastic chain guard. I think he got tired of the oil spray.
Hopefully he still has it in the barn. You know how it is though...the PO is dead and the son does not seem real cooperative to let me in the barn.
Not sure how it will end up. I could use that air box, chain guard and old cases.

KayOne I agree. Paint is not even chipped. It certainly has not seen much sun or weather in those 11,999 miles.

Would love to know how many bikes are on the other side of the garage. Counting 5 just in sight.

Would love to come visit on one of my next (warm) mid-west trips..

They're all Hondas. He had some Kawasaki parts (carbs) but he felt guilty and promptly sold them!

Nice progress this week. Got the right hand headlight switch fixed. Put fresh oil in the bike and sprayed oil in the top end. Turned it over a few times and watched the oil light go off. Checked compression found 175 on 3 cylinders and 165 on the 4th. I expected the good compression with only 12,000 miles on it. Then turned to the points as I had spark on 1 & 4, but none on 2 & 3. Cleaned the points and gapped them and now good spark on all. I have points and condensers on order, but wanted to be sure I could get some spark. Grandkids are coming over for the night so I better clean up. The grandson loves going in the shop looking and handling the tools. Will be a fun night with them.

Got some good news today. Bill Benson has a nice KO chain guard for me.
This 69 came with the a K1 guard on it and I just can't let it stay. Now I am looking for a complete air box.

So Bill is shopping Christmas gifts early thins year. Got this little gem from him today March 25th...9 months before Christmas. Thanks Bill...just could not get along with a K1 chain guard on this KO. This piece will look great. And great packaging my friend!

Far from an expert Stev-o...that would be Hondaman

KO vs K1 chain guards. They are both plastic. The KO measures 23 3/4 inches vs the K1 at 25 7/8 inches. You can easily see the difference in the first pic. On the bike the first pic is of the KO and 2nd pic of the K1.
