Nope, I have never submitted any of them as builds, but I have  done all of them ground up except for the CBX

Y'all know TB that mod is much too sophisticated for a redneck.  I true redneck would've cut the section out and left it as is ::)....Lbb

Ha ha, true dat Larry Billy Bob, you would have been proud of me yesterday, I ignored my MIG and my TIG in favour of welding aluminium with the magic swap meet brazing rods and a propane torch! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Painted up the valve cover I'm going to use on the 550 to replace the existing one with its peeling chrome

Well, i got the carbs back on the manifolds, finally, but that darn air box, those rubbers will not go onto the carb bodies..........

Anyone want to buy a 75 750? j/k......

They seemed soft enough, just won't go.

The 350 likes to pee gas all over, so carb removal is in the near future.

Yes, how much for the 750?!!

Have you tried lube and heat when you try to slip it in?

A heat gun will make the carbs to slip on the carb boots.
Boots are mounted on the head spigots and aligned before. The ends must be aligned horisontal and vertical

the carbs onto the head is done, just the air box rubbers are giving me a hard time.

Have not tried the heat gun (of which I do not own) , will try the hair dryer.

Have a death in the family, will have to hold off for a bit.

New stuff!

I put a electronic flasher relay in from 4into1... WOW! So crisp! Didn't know what I was missing.

I also bought a SAE to USB/voltmeter dongle thing from Amazon with eyelets already wired on to check out how much the stock regulator/rectifier was frying my expensive lithium battery at speed... it was bad! Putting out over 15 volts at high RPM!

Pro tip... the honda four voltage regulator on 4into1 is only $30 bucks on Amazon... and $18 on eBay...and they all look the same. Li Bai or something. Threw that sucker on this morning and now it's putting out a steady 12 and a half.

FInally had a day to myself yesterday so I was able to do all the work after Rhonda's accident recovery/winter sleep.

New bar, grips, throttle tube, brake lever, clutch lever, mirror, points cover, blinkers... then an alignment check and re-attached the muffler.

Gassed up and started right back up! I love hearing Rhonda sing.

Now I have to get it "inspected" at a dealership, and then I can go switch my salvage registration (because the bike was a financial write-off), to a normal registration. Which is bull#$%*, but whatever. Play the game. Find a new place to park, away from others!

Just finished test ride (11pm here)

New rubbers (Bridges BT45), new wheel bearings. I spend several hours trying to change tires (have just small levers and had to find the way how to protect rims), fighting with tires, rust removal from inside of front rim, painting with special anti rust epoxide...
Bike handles really good, even front brake power improves with every braking.

2 issues remains - bike still pulls left and carbs needs full cleaning and most likely rebuild.

I definitely fall in love with this bike!

Now I understand why it is LEGEND (sorry guys, I'm too young maybe to know already, moreover, in our country motorcycle other than domestic Jawa, started to be available just in mid 90's).
Nevertheless, it is never too late!

Now I'm ready to go technical check scheduled this Saturday🤞

And very IMPORTANT - thanks for all your help/advices you provided me on this forum, really appreciated!

Today in Portland, Oregon we had a nice day of no rain drops.  Fired up the '74 750 and cruised around town.  The bike ran good and pulled well with that linear feel.  When I got home, I checked the timing (static check) and then ran the strobe for advance check.  So far, so good. Tec plate and points.  (not Daiichi) I guess it does make a difference.  Bike is stock (air box 4 into 4 exhaust with baffles in place) 32k on the clock.  This motor is wonderful  when dialed in.

While I wait for my 1969 K0 cases cylinder block and head to come back from the Hydro Blaster, I'd been thinking about how best to repair the cracked inlet spigot. On Monday I went to a swap meet which was almost a waste of time, but I did find the guy who's at every swap meet I go to, selling aluminum repair rods.

I've bought this stuff before, but my technique was rubbish, and all I managed to do was melt it into blobs, which fell off the repair area. This time I actually read the instructions, and felt confidant that I could do this. First I found a junk head, and did a saw cut in the same area as the crack on the K0 head's spigot. I also "Vee'd" it out with a file, but forgot to take a pic.

Redneck alloy welding 3 by terry prendergast, on Flickr

I started to do the repair, but ran out of MAPP gas before I had it entirely melted! Poop! Still I was happy it was flowing.

Redneck alloy welding 4 by terry prendergast, on Flickr

Once I got a new bottle of gas I got back into it, and even though it's not perfect, it was only a test piece, and I didn't want to waste any more material on it. I also realised that I've put all of my metal files somewhere for safe keeping, and can't find them, so all I had was a half moon file and a chainsaw file, so once again, I'll need to find them nefore I attempt to repair the K0 spigot. Seriously though, this stuff is great, and once you get the hang of it, really easy to use. ;D

Off with the old cam cover. Ran out of time to install the replacement.

The chrome on the old cover is actually in good shape, I thought it was peeling like the pretty much all the other chromed parts, but it isn't. I'm going to install the painted cover anyway and put the chrome one on Ebay.

Well I recently finished up my orange F0 750,will have to get some pics when I take my freshly lined tank out of the warm basement to the cold shop, and had so much 'fun' that I thought I would tear into Old Yeller. Kind of geared up for those right now as far as spares out of boxes, tools etc.. Today was tear down day. Got the front brake master rebuilt so I will be able to use that to get the rear and front(done)pistons out of the calipers and get the rear master unstuck and force that piston out. Bike has a frozen aftermarket rear master now so going back to stock. I already 'proved' the engine shortly after I got it a couple years ago so now its all the fun stuff like tires, fork seals, paint, tid bits,chain/sprockets,cleaning etc etc etc. did I say cleaning   ::)
Anybody done a seat for these and got a suggestion for a good seat cover that fits well and looks good. See some on E-bay but they don't get real specific about 75-76 750F's, just F's in general.

Looks great Eric, reminds me of the shiny yellow F-ing F I bought new way back when you could still buy a shiny new CB750. I bought one of those aftermarket seat covers from David Silver Spares for my F2 when I restored it, I went to the trouble of taking it to a "pro", who installed it slightly crooked, which pissed me off, I've done my own ever since, with better results. ;D

Thanks Jerry,I was tempted to PM you as you are the Guru. I thought the 77-78 F had a slightly different shape but will give one of these e-bay covers a whirl.  The front rim has some corrosion that may not clean up all that well, looks like a pre 77 K model front wheel is the same so I should be able to swap it with a better one from my stash ??

Hey Eric...I've replaced a couple of seat covers, but not an F'r, have had good results using a quality cover.  Resist the urge to buy the cheapest one, there is a difference.  Gumtwo has received good reviews here on the forum...
