Tremendous work...would be just slightly even more tremendous with more upturn.  Ha ha turn up the up turn and they will be truly tremendous.
If it works good, it looks good...

Thankyou, I do intend turning up the upturn, but am going to wait until after upturning the upturned bike to get the upturn correct

Exhausts finished, stuff going for paint this week, so I'll be back in a few weeks/months for your opinions on my planned paint job. (I know the forks are backwards

Very Nice. Are you able to change the oil without moving the pipes or are you going to install a remote filter and oil cooler?
What color scheme for your tank, etc, are you going for?

(never mind on the oil filter...April Fools Day post shows it clearly...)

Those pipes look like they took some time to weld up.  I am not an exhaust expert but do the sharp bends at the exhaust port present any flow issues?  I like how tightly the tubes tuck on the bottom of the frame.

I'm no expert either!  But there is about 60mm straight pipe before the bends which are 3 x 30 degrees.  I'll be surprised if it runs at all after I'm finished!  Running well will be an added bonus

Why HT paint versus Ceramic coated inside and out? Other than an obvious of cost...

Yip cost, doing this on the cheap where possible.   Blew the budget on the CRs and ignition.

Few little details coming along.  Managed to source a rear brake cable from a cl77/72 or something.  Nice and short/chunky with a handy adjuster.

Made an aluminium mount from scrap for the drum end, and started to make a steel mount for the pedal end to weld to the frame.

Would like this on the road in 6 weeks, but the devil is in the detail.  Got the rear cable sorted, hope to make the battery box tonight and weld it to the mudguard.  Got a chain and sprockets ( nearly made the o ring mistake).  Would like new shocks, but they can wait until I get an electronic speedo/rev counter.  (Any suggestions?)

Shorten your brake anchor, will make the cable look better.

I just read the whole thread, I would like to applaud you on jumping right in, getting a tight, and jumping right into tank making and making your own megaphones..
I expect FunJimmy is thinking of a tig about now..

Thankyou, I'll probably take the grinder to a few things.  I agree about the brake anchor, i'll probably make it rounder too.

Got the frame, swingarm, and some other bits from the painter today, not going to reveal the final colour yet as I am not sure if it will be a popular choice, and I want to see what it is going to look like with a few bits attached.

Took the sump off to fit a new gasket and check I had seated the cam chain tensioner correctly.  Found a couple of bits of piston ring in the sump, which explains the previous butcher job somebody did on the top end!

Well that should give you an idea of where I am aiming with this.  I made a tank for a mate who is doing the painting.  My wife picked the paint, I actually like it, not sure if the fairing would be too much if painted the same colour.

I like that alright, and I am generally a "black frame only" kinda guy.  I am thinking more colours the merrier for this race rep but no idea what would look good with that
