Alrighty then! It's crazy and it continues to climb upwards :o It puts my mind at ease though to know some people have this kind of cash available to them to throw at a motorcycle Honda or otherwise :o Curious just to see how high it will go.

In the E-bay description of this bike they say that one of these prototypes was crushed in 1990. Why? By 1990 that was a very collectible machine with all its history. Why would American Honda not want to have it saved for historical reasons? I guess I just don't understand big business.
Bob
I'm guessing it wasn't Honda that crushed it since it was in Iowa.  Probably a scrap dealer.  What a shame.

I wish I had enough spare money to be able to blow $120K on a motorcycle. If I did I don't know if I would buy this bike though.

I am very surprised a sale like this is happening on ebay.  I wonder if the transaction will actually be completed through ebay or if this was just a way to ensure the real buyer pays top dollar.  I'm sure Vic World was in touch with Honda about purchasing the bike.  The Honda Museum has a World restored sandcast on display.  Very interesting stuff.

Only to a idiot. This bike as a prototype has no bearing on the value of any other CB750 or the price of rice in China. It's like a Ferrari selling for a million bucks and the guy trying to say his VW beetle is worth a million bucks because another car sold for that much.

FTFY. :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

So I take it that it is OK to have lower gas tank trim with the black stripe on a sandcast or KO? Even the ad page with this bike shows the black stripe trim...

The prototype had the black stripe but the sandcasts and early diecasts did not.  So it depends on whether you're looking for correct for the model.  If you like it I think it's plenty OK.

I'm really worried to touch any buttons when visiting that page on eBay! :)

I'm convinced that his auction will cause rings on the water, increase the interest of the bike, prices on bikes and parts. I see here in Sweden, prices on good looking CB750 K0-K6 has doubled the last 3-5 years. Good thing about the increased interest of CB750 is new parts coming out on the market, NOS such as really new.

It's very popular to find a good bike and repair it back to new OEM std.

This bike was posted, then removed. Now it's up again. I too am curious if the auction will finish and if so, will there be a legit buyer?
