Sad news after 3+ years of getting my 73 cb750k up and running.....
Michigans first 80+ degree day and a great day to ride the bike to work. I had been watching the calendar for days in anticipation for this day, final hot and finally dry. On my way to an afternoon apt and a delivery drive who didn't want to wait in his lane for cars to go decided to make a quick decision and pull over into my lane. Absolutely no other option then to lock them up for about three feet and crash into his passenger side front quarter panel at about 35. I went over the bars and flew about 10 feet before landing on my back on the concrete and then barrel rolling until I came to a stop face down in the grass. All things considered I'm ended up really really lucky. Jacked up toe, crazy lump on my knee, two incredibly sore shoulders, and a fractured or bone chip in my elbow. Thank god I was wearing me helmet, because my head bounced.
Now the sad news.... I have been trying to get this bike done for years. With little money and even less knowledge I tore into this thing. I relied on members to walk me through simple fixes that seemed complicated to me. Untold dallors on parts, hours in the garage, and ten times as many reading and researching. This summer was suppose to be nothing but riding, just putting on miles ever chance I could get; now over just 75 miles into the season. I haven't got a chance to inspect to closely yet, but at a bare minimum I'm looking at trashed mirrors, pegs, gauges, ears, front fender, engine case, tank, handle bars, throttle, and exhaust... And I'm sure I didn't catch it all....
So 3:30 in the morning and unable to sleep due to pain, sadness, and anger I had to share my store with the only people who would understand....
So everyone have a cold one for me and a cold one for my bike this weekend....
